No, it's not everything. It's about maximizing your potential. Being built is more attractive than fat, that doesn't mean you need to be some unnatural mutant.

With that being said those dudes didn't just wake up jacked one day, they put in the time. Strength is also relative. How do you know those dudes haven't been lifting for years already to get to that point.

Stop worrying about other people, worry about you. Who gives a shit what you can lift, keep adding more to the bar over time and you'll see improvement.

I truly look at our generation and I’m in disbelief with how weak minded people are. You have potential, lots of it, make use of it. You have the ability to become those jacked 20 yrs but you are trying to get us to give you an excuse for why you shouldn’t pursue that. FUCK THAT.

With that being said, I’d look into TRT after you get your diet and routine in order. As we get older, we lose testosterone making building muscle harder. But please for the love of god don’t think TRT is going to magically solve a shitty diet and a shitty routine. LEARN about both first. Look into Jeff Nippard on youtube.

Stop comparing yourself to others. That's your first mistake. A lot of people do that and give up on things that would infinitely improve their lives. My friend gave up playing guitar and his logic was "why would I try learning that when there's a 7 year old Chinese kid who can do it perfect?" That's sort of like the reasoning you're using. Isn't it? It's a defeatists attitude. Not trying to be harsh or anything. Just direct. Sometimes I compare myself to others and think "damn I'll never be that tall or that handsome", or whatever but that doesn't mean I should quit entirely because there's simply no way I can some unattainable level of perfection or something. A huge mistake that almost every beginner at the gym makes (including myself) is that we compare ourselves to others. This is so unfair and unreasonable. You have no idea how long they have been working out for, how often they train, or if they're taking any performance enhancers.

I'm much leaner than most of my guys at the gym and starting out, I was probably the skinniest guy there, but after two years, I've packed on some lean muscle and am much more confident at the gym than I was before.

You can't really be good or bad at training at the gym. It's just a matter of how much you know and how much you are willing to push yourself. It's not like those 20-year-olds are doing anything different to you. They have just probably been doing for a longer time.

Give consistent working out two years and you will get yourself a body you are proud of. If you are fat, give it up to three years. During that time you should also learn about nutrition, diet, and workouts to maximize your gains.

Personally, I don't like the idea of going to the gym purely for aesthetics. Focus on going there for your health, as you'll feel much better both physically and mentally. Aesthetic is just a by-product.

If you're struggling at something and find it hard, why quit? You'll get better at it, but it requires time and effort. If you simply don't have the time to do it or are hating it, then don't bother. Your choice. I suggest sticking it out and getting results, and go to a different gym maybe. If you're still hating it, try working out at home. Get some basic equipment and focus more on bodyweight exercises, I.e push ups. Seriously, I can't be arsed spending so much a month to use dirty equipment, have some tryhards and showoffs irritating me and having to wear sweaty clothing on the way back because I hate public showers. Instead I work out at home and get just as good results, if not better, and save money in the long run. Find a space to work out, get some dumbbells, get a bar for doing push ups or perhaps a bench press and go from there. So much easier. They'll last you for ages. Just keep good care of your equipment and when you find stuff easy, just buy some more and adjust your routines.
