Schools have no business deciding whether crimes have been committed by their students. It should be dealt with by courts. Whether a rape has occurred should not be investigated or decided by school administrations.

Ehhh, I have been the victim of a college “kangaroo court” myself, in undergrad nursing. I was doing my community service hours and someone anonymously complained that I wore “revealing tops that showed my cleavage.” Clearly they mistook me for someone else because I always wore scrubs to work and also back then my BMI was 19 and I wore a size AA bra.

But the school didn’t even want to hear my POV, just wanted to immediately make me drop the class and try to take it again next semester, which would’ve delayed my graduation and the start of grad school. I had to be really aggressive to keep my spot but that’s another story.

Minority opinion, maybe, but I think campus crimes, including rape, should be handled by the REAL criminal justice system, not by the school itself.
