What’s quarantine like with your HVM?

He hauled an excavator to my backyard and dug a pond for me. He helped me chop down a tree that was shading my garden and then split it into firewood. Currently he is working on a some kind of woodworking project for me, I don't know what it is because he wants it to be a surprise.

But by far the best thing was when I shared my pinterest board with him about all the neat and cutesy gardening/landscaping projects I fantasize about. He looked at it and was like "hmmm, yup, I can do this" with this super sexy masculine energy.

He is totally unlike my exes who always responded with boredom or annoyance whenever I talked about "yard work"

I (30f) live w my female roommate, and after discussion decided to bring my boyfriend, with whom it is still early stages (6 months) to quarantine with us. We knew it was a gamble, but it’s been a blessing.

He had never done yoga before, but I mentioned I really enjoy it, and was having a hard time keeping up with a routine. Now, every morning, he vacuums the living room, rolls out our mats and starts coffee, giving me an extra 10 minutes alone in bed. While I’m in the bathroom - he usually sneaks back into the bedroom and makes the bed. We then do about 40 minutes of yoga before my roommate wakes up and helps herself to the coffee he started for her. Every single morning. Consistency. He came up with this ritual on his own - just because he wanted to encourage me.
He talks about me behind my back to his friends and family. He speaks to his mom in a different language - and I understand enough to know he’s saying really nice things about me. I hear him late at night talking to his friends, telling them how happy I make him.
Our one big argument led to us saying “time out” going for separate walks, and practicing “active listening”. We resolved it quickly, with compassion, active steps to identify if the problem arose again and a commitment that we were a team working toward a solution - not trying to win points against each other. And he followed through! I feel stronger, closer and more understood following the argument.

Before him, I dated a string of LVM and NVM (all of whom have texted/ DMed or emailed since Q started - even the one who married the woman he was cheating with.) Its like exercise or eating healthy, once I realize I am a queen who deserves HV in all things, I crave more healthy habits and HV treatment. Sending good vibes to everyone out there!

My friend's husband was furloughed temporarily during isolation / quarantine. Instead of lazing about the house like the husbands and boyfriends of a couple acquaintances I know, he built a three-level deck in their backyard in 5 weeks.

It's not exactly something specific he did, it's more about his consistency and reliability during even a horribly stressful time like this. We've been incredibly fortunate that he's been able to work almost completely from home and still get full pay, but it's still a big change for us to be home together all day and all night.

The thing is, him being here all the time hasn't led to any conflict or stress whatsoever, and neither of us is trying to get more alone time. He still wants to spend all his time with me, and I can be fully myself with him. He's been doing all the errands so that I haven't had to go out at all since the pandemic struck. Usually he makes me dinner after he comes home from work, but now that he's working from home, he asks what I want for breakfast and lunch too.

It's hard to explain why this is so wonderful. A lot of it is simply contrasting my experience to that of so many women right now, who if they aren't being beaten or murdered are being harangued and browbeaten by their surly partners who "need more space." I think back to my ex-husband and imagine spending over a month confined to the home with each other, and it's no exaggeration to say that one of us would not have made it out alive.

Sometimes it's not about big gestures, just the kind of dependability, adaptability, and consistency that gives you a rock solid foundation to rely on even in difficult times.

I've been worried about getting knocked up and not being able to have an abortion so I told my bf I was uncomfortable having a lot of sex right now and he hasn't asked once for sex. He also knows I'm broke and has been paying my dogs vet bills and buying all the groceries.

What stuck out for me is I told him as we sat on the couch that his touch is a comfort. Hand, leg, whatever. I physically relax when touched. Now, this isn't new information, as we've been together a long time, but as the stress of 'Rona is new, my anxiety is higher than typical. I told him that his touch is a comfort, so when I sit next to him, he will reach out. Seems little, but it's not.

He listens and appreciates me when I do my weird shit :) Like he helped me design my Animal Crossing island and was actively interested in it, listened to me talk about my weird niche historical interests, and I sent him dumbass videos of myself dancing in pajamas and he called me his stupid cutie. :))))

So many things. But the think that makes me happy is that we are around each other so much more than usual and he lights up with a smile whenever he sees me, even if he saw me two minutes ago when I left the room. I’ve know he was awesome for a long time, but this is a nice reminder.

He helped clear my old house and was happy to do it.

He leaves me my favourite candy around the house for me to find.

He helps with teaching my daughter.

He's building me raised flowers beds for my vegetable garden and has apologised because it won't be ready for growing food this year (thanks quarentine).

My partner's been a sweetie. I enjoy all the quality time and he's done loads of cool projects round the house and supported me with mine. He makes me laugh all he time. He's also supported me to quit smoking! Nothings perfect but he is a dream! In fairness we both still have to work a bit, but it's been a massive lifestyle change for us both and is been a threat to his earnings.
