FDSers, another book excerpt from The Defining Decade by Meg Jay to share with you all. Here she describes Cathy, a low self-esteem pickme whose love life is out of control.

Cathy goes on to rationalize her behavior.

Eventually, the psychotherapist gets to the core of Cathy's issues after asking her about her formative sexual experience. Extremely low self-esteem.

Cathy is a great example of how not to think of yourself. She suffers from pathologically low self-worth, much like Pickmeishas who also think they have to be pornstars, cooks, maids, and personal assistants to get LVM to like them. You are enough. You don't need to be doing backflips to get anyone's attention.

What you have to offer a partner is far more than looks or sex.
