I need your strength, ladies.

Last Friday evening, my brother came over to drop his truck off for me for my business while he’s out of town (doctor). He stayed for some beers as he had been social distancing too.

The conversation turned political and got heated. My fiancé got out of his chair, threw it over, and walked over to my brother to attack him. My brother threw him down on the ground, beat him up but didn’t leave any marks or bruises and no blood, then left.

My fiancé has not apologized to him, nor spoken to me since that night. (WHY?!)

I told him it was over after my brother left.

We’ve been together for 5.5 years. He helped take care of my mom when she had cancer and let her live with us while I was jobless.

Around the 2.5 year mark, sex dwindled to once or twice a year and I asked him if it was porn, someone else, if he didn’t find me attractive anymore, and everything else. His response to all of this has been that he’s stressed, doesn’t know why he has a low libido, went to the doctor and got tested for low T but surprisingly doesn’t have low T, and that was that. He hasn’t done a single thing to fix our dead bedroom, despite my repeated attempts at telling him my feelings.

Despite the fact that I have outearned him for the past two years of our relationship and give him my financial equality, that equality doesn’t extend to the cooking, cleaning, or obviously the orgasms. When we do have sex, he’s wasted drunk.

I love this man. I can’t shut it off. I was serious when I said I wanted to marry him. He was very HVM at the beginning, and of course the sex was frequent and enjoyable for both.

I don’t know what changed.

For every day of this emotional stonewalling, I’m finding myself more and more angry at his behavior, but also seeing that my efforts aren’t being matched in this relationship, especially emotionally. Each day of passing silence lessens his chances of reconciliation, though I’m trying to convince myself that this relationship is beyond repair.

I feel myself spiraling into my old pickmeisha ways thinking I should speak to him, see if he’ll open up, see if he’ll apologize, try to make it work! After all, he will treat the next girl better than you because accepted all of these behaviors and let it get to this point.

Please help me make sense of all of this.
