This sub generally likes to promote marriage as an end and I agree it is much better than being someone’s forever girlfriend that gives wifey privileges.

Marriage can be hard too though, and I would be interested to get a perspective on what to do when your husband starts slacking in the marriage.

He is great in a lot of ways but has pretty much let his appearance go. Obviously attraction is important in a relationship.

I have already communicated my lack of desire and the need for him to be more fit but it seems to fall on deaf ears with lip service that he will work on it “tomorrow.”

How can married women work their marriage to their benefit? This is not an uncommon theme in marriages a lot of women end up in marriages where the men eventually start to let themselves go and assume they are entitled to sex with their wives even when the men fail to do the bare minimum to keep themselves attractive.
