This is why you DEMAND to meet his friends/family, have the relationship/you openly posted on his social media, stay at HIS place regularly, and if he has any issues any of these you tell him to step the fuck off. Stay vigilant ladies. This kinda shit should never be possible.

The guy is scum, obviously, but that part isn't surprising. What is surprising to me is all the rest of it. She got into a "relationship" at 19 with a guy that was 24/25 and stayed with him for 2.5 years. During this time she thought he was her "boyfriend" and that they were together but he didn't take her on dates, she never met his friends or family, they didn't live together, and she wasn't involved in his life at all. No one from his life knew that she existed.

Girl, where is your mother? Where are your friends?? Where is anyone that should have been waving the red flags in your face and sounding the alarm about all of this? She can't truly have been so naive as to think that this was a relationship when it was clearly a booty call/friends with benefits situation. Even if she was that naive at 19 when it started, she managed to make it to 22 without understanding that she was the side piece? How??

I dunno, maybe I'm crazy but this sounds more like she knew that he wasn't committed/was dating around/had a wandering eye and thought that she was going to prevail in the end. Now she's throwing a tantrum because she discovered that he's in a real relationship with someone else and she never had a chance. Some of her comments have that petty, immature vibe to them (She's not pretty AT ALL. I'M BETTER.). Yikes all around on this one.

I F(22) was “dating” my boyfriend M(27) for two and a half years. I over looked a ton of red flags during that time. I found out he was in a relationship with another girl F(26) for a year and a half.

He knew me first, but kept me hidden. He met her a year after he knew me, but introduced her to friends and took her on dates. When I found this all out it made me feel so ugly in comparison. That he must of thought she was more attractive and wanted to show her off. He probably thought she had more value if he took her on dates too.

How do I get over this feeling? Is this the cause? It hurts that he valued that girl more than me.

TL;DR: boyfriend of two years kept me hidden but started dating someone else and showed her off to friends and took her on dates
