Just to start off - I've been in therapy and been on and off meds since 20 (I'm 25 now). I live a very busy, chaotic life and the meds would just put me to sleep, which is not what I need right now. I'm trying a stimulant now which is working better because my psychiatrist was like "maybe this is untreated ADHD."

Anyway, I've been single my entire life. I'm high-achieving, pretty, and social, but deeply depressed. I've gotten attention from men, but it was always the wrong kind. Very rarely has a guy wanted to get to know me better as a person. Part of it is that I was raised in a very conservative Islamic environment which makes it hard for me to be comfortable with my sexuality. I'm uncomfortable and feel stressed out talking to men. My convos always feel stilted and forced. The whole "playful" persona that guys eat up - yeah, I can't do that.

So I'm 25 now and have really only had a kiss with someone who I pursued pretty aggressively (obv before I found this sub). I don't regret the kiss, but I don't want my first time being with someone who doesn't really like me.

The rational side of me KNOWS I'm worth my weight in gold. Really. But the broken, depressed side of me is like "nothing you do will ever change the fact that you're uninteresting and only worth one time in bed." Yeah, that's how harshly my brain talks to me.

So how can I date when I feel like this? I figure that I will always feel like this, but I don't want to live a celibate life. I have sexual urges just like most humans and don't want to push off sex till I'm older, but I'm just terrified of men and what they can do to me physically and/or emotionally.
