So this post is inspired by other posts I’ve seen surrounding the topic of disclosing your past relationships or sex partners to your current partner.

Society has lied to you. Society has said to be intimate with someone you must divulge all of your personal information, your darkest secrets and most embarrassing moments. This is not true.

IT IS OKAY TO KEEP SOMETHINGS PRIVATE. This strategy is not only to protect yourself in your current relationship, but to protect your reputation (a bad rep can negatively effect any future relationships you have).

Like many users have said before, letting a man know your high n-count will only end badly for you. No matter how good, trustworthy and genuine you think he is. he will view you negatively. Period. The end.

The thing is, men’s egos aren’t only attached to their own sexuality but they’re also latched to the sexuality of the woman he’s romantically/sexually involved with. To tell a man you’ve had many partners in the past damages his ego.

There’s also a 95% chance he runs and tells his friends what you told him to get their input. Then his friends tell their friends. Then you’re known as the slut. That’s how these rumors start.

This is where the phrases, “Ignorance is bliss” and “What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him” are the most valuable.

HONESTY RULE: IF YOU’RE TOO EMBARRASSED TO TELL THE INFORMATION TO YOUR PARENTS, DO NOT TELL IT TO YOUR MAN.

Would you openly tell your mom or dad that you’ve fucked 25 men and 20 of those men meant absolutely nothing to you? No? Great. Don’t tell your man.

Would you tell your mom or dad that you’ve had 3 loving long term relationships of which you were involved sexually? Yes? Great. You can tell your man.

AND

THE HORSE BLINDERS RULE: GIVE HIM JUST ENOUGH INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND YOUR PAST. AS IF HE’S LOOKING AT YOUR PAST WITH HORSE BLINDERS ON. HE CAN ONLY SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF HIM—WHAT YOU GIVE TO HIM. HE’S NOT BEING DISTRACTED BY WHAT’S ON THE SIDES. (This rule goes for more general information about your past that would adversely effect the relationship that doesn’t include sexual history. )

Please keep in mind I’m not suggesting you lie to him or make up a fake past or personality because that’s not right and will end badly. Motto: Don’t lie, just don’t tell.

You can feel connected with your man without telling him everything. Don’t be an open book. just show him enough chapters so he’s satisfied.
