In money, energy, time, emotional cost, risk and lost opportunities?
Money-- how much money do you spend on cosmetics, skincare, clothing? Sure, you probably have these things for work/life in general, but most women spend more when they are on dating apps, since dating apps are so superficial and so heavily image-based. Not to mention the money you spend on gas, transportation and if you're going Dutch-- paying for drinks, meals, dates.
Energy-- how much energy do you put into it? After swiping/chatting on a dating app, do you feel energized or do you feel depressed and low energy afterwards? Keep track of your energy levels throughout the day and week, and figure out how much energy dating apps are taking from you. How much energy are they giving back?
Time-- how many minutes/hours do you spend on dating apps per day? How much time do you spend texting, talking on the phone, trying to pre-screen with video chats? Keep track of the time you spend on it. Let's say you spend 5 hours on it per week, which is conservative for dating apps. What could you do with 5 hours per week? Imagine 5 more hours at the gym, in fitness classes, in a workshop, 5 more hours reading or studying a language?
Emotional cost-- what is the emotional cost of using dating apps? Are you becoming more jaded, more cynical, more misanthropic and less happy? What effect is it having on your mental health? Again, keep track of this also. Are dating apps making you into a better person, or a worse person?
Risks-- what are the risks? You can be super careful and pre-screen with video chats, Google the guy, check public records, use a Google voice # and so on, but what are the risks of STDs, meeting a cluster B or predator, finding someone who was manipulative enough to pass your screening (very possible with cluster Bs), what is the chance that your date is not who he seems to be?
Lost opportunities-- what are the lost opportunities? With the money, energy, time and emotional cost you spend on dating apps-- what could you have done instead, that would have had a higher ROI, taught you a skill, made you happier, healthier, wealthier. Lost opportunities with meeting HVM in the real world too. Is it possible that you lose opportunities in real life, because you don't show up to places, you're wasting time on dates with men you matched with online, you're always looking at your phone, you're not living in the real world? What if you lost an opportunity, because dating apps put you in a very depressive cynical mood, and you didn't have the mindset to talk to people in real life?
