Unfortunately these creeps are everywhere. A lot of women here have found that the way we carry and present ourselves in public, can go a long way toward making ourselves less of a target.

Walk with confidence
Hold your head up and look aware of your surroundings
Don't smile at everyone
Don't answer any strange man who tries to engage you in conversation
Dress and groom yourself to a high standard
Don't be afraid to take up space, and to assert your personal space. Move away from men who get too close. If they sit beside you, get up and move.

Remember, these are LV men who are looking for LV women.

Walk like you’re on a catwalk- stare straight ahead, don’t stop when people try to talk to you, if they do make comments ignore them. Men want attention, even if it’s just you being uncomfortable while they hit on you. RBF is your best friend. I’m fairly confident this works because I don’t get bothered when I’m on my own but when I’m with my pickmeisha friend who smiles at every scrote in the vicinity, they get emboldened and start hitting on me. I’m tall so I just stare over their heads since most of them are shorter than me anyway lol

That’s a tough one because men can get aggressive when you snap back, right?

It’s such a shitty situation for women that we have to put up with it

I once had a guy chase me down in the target parking lot with two kids in tow. It’s ridiculous

You can try to just hold your head high and ignore, sometimes even that makes them become more aggressive, though

When I lived in the city, I walked around everywhere with headphones on

I used to wish I could carry a gun with me because if someone ever truly attacked me, what else could I do to protect myself? I am very much a non violent person, but this is what the audaciousness and aggression of men brings us to think of.

To be honest I’ve managed to get approached less because I make myself seem less approachable and have a resting bitch face all the time BUT I can’t avoid getting hit on couple times a day and at this point I just pretend I don’t speak the language of the country I’m in 😔. I know I should be assertive with men and they should understand that no means no but I am too tired of having to negotiate for basic human respect so I’ll just respond in whatever language I think they won’t understand.

I try to look as mean and unapproachable as possible. It usually works I don’t get bothered I might get looks but they don’t dare come up to me. On the off chance a bold one does I say nothing and glare.

Ok personally when I look like a slob, no one bothers talking to me or looking at me.

And I’ve never felt physically harassed by people on the street but I probably live in a more courteous, safe city

Honestly

A fake/nice smile and "no thank you have a nice day" (one quick sentence, loudly and clearly, no eye contact) and keep walking or look the other way

I've never had a man get angry or continue after this

I can be polite as long as they come polite and not rude/gross
