Your voice is too loud.
You talk too much.
You laugh too loud.
I could hear you down the hallway.
Leave the class til you quiet down.
Be quieter.
You're overreacting.
No one wants to hear that.
From teachers
From partners
From parents
How am I supposed to scream when I'm in danger when this is the message I've gotten? When the message is "it's all my fault," what can I do?
Luckily, thanks to FDS, I have been finding my voice and my boundaries, but I still struggle with these feelings and messages, especially with a mother who is more like an NVM than anything else.
I don't want to be quiet anymore.
