A nice/unusual box of tea or coffee if any of them drink that kind of thing would be nice. If you felt like spending more you could then pair that with a mug/teacup you think they'd like.

Anything along those lines would be my go-to probably, e.g. artisan chocolate or cheese, a nice wine, etc.

Scarves can be good too if they wear them.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about spending too much. Thoughtfulness is more important than spending heaps.

I would go with consumables for sure. That way you don't need to know their specific tastes or make assumptions about the type of things they want to keep in their home. I think jewelry or tchotchkes are such a gamble unless you know someone's taste really, really well.

Mother: Set of nice candles

Sister: Some lovely spices from a spice store

Grandparents: Artisanal chocolates or a nice wine

I always think its nice to get something for the men as well. A little nip of nice whiskey or a six pack of craft beer wrapped up with a bow on it is always a hit!

How much money do you have allotted for his family's presents?

What do you know about his relatives specifically? Are they religious, do they enjoy classical music, are they fond of a specific time in history? Do they know anything about their family line?

etsy and ebay are fantastic resources to find unusual and unique presents.

You could go with something sentimental? There are artists that use sand dollars or pieces of drift wood to paint custom images on. If you the grandfather likes cigars, you could get him a nice cigar box and whisky maybe?

How old is the sister?

I'd love to help you brainstorm some ideas! I just need some additional formation to work with. :)

My favorite place to get gifts for people I don’t know well is Cost Plus World Market (Official name, I just call it World Market). They have great unique items. If you want to go the edibles route, huge selection of global candies, spices, and treats. For my husband’s birthday I got him a variety of unique steak seasonings. They also have jewelry at a great price and candles as well. Don’t worry about spending too much/too little; think of it as a hostess gift. But DO make sure it’s beautifully wrapped. Line your box with tissue, do a great job wrapping and finish with a nice ribbon bow.

Houseplants! I grow a lot of houseplants, I love finding a planter that suits the person I'm giving it to, and typically give them an easy care plant, pothos, bamboo, aloe or snake plants. I propagate my own but you could buy one.

Also if you have the funds for it... for the grandparents at least, a nice serving tray. In my experience older people love a good serving tray/dish ware.

For sister... if she’s girlie I’m thinking a spa gift card?

For mom I would do a nice perfume or something to make her life easier in the kitchen/cleaning etc.
