How frequently do you expect to be in contact with a new partner?

I would expect to meet at least twice a week and text everyday outside of work hours. However I think it ultimately does not matter that much, when you both really like each other, it builds naturally and can be much more than that. For example, with my current boyfriend, we met almost everyday after our first date and never stopped that unless we both had to be out of town. Though we are both from a middle eastern culture so things are much less individualistic for us and it is default to become exclusive when you’re dating.

Before my current boyfriend, I was trying to date European men and especially for Northern Europeans and Scandinavians, it was super difficult to expect any kind of commitment for at least 5-6 months. They could not even promise to meet once a week, didn’t do any romantic stuff, or regular cute texting. Ah I’m so glad I found a middle eastern man! Sorry if I diverted from the topic but what I wanted to say is the frequency should be how much YOU want and expect from the man. You should set that standard for yourself and do not go lower than that. Do not try to hold back on texting not to seem too clingy. The man who really likes you will never get enough dates or texts.

Depends on their situation. Do they work 40 hours and that’s it? They have time to text every day. Are they a pediatric surgeon who works 60 hours a week? Maybe a call a week.

With my now husband we texted every day and called on the days that our schedules overlapped which was 2-3 days a week. We met once a week- he lived an hour away.

The main thing is: are you being treated as a priority? If he wants you, or wants to explore whether he wants you, you will know. If you are treated as entertainment when he is bored then that’s when you know to keep looking.

Pretend to have a medical emergency to skip work to meet.

If it doesn't feel like drugs, it's not much of a honeymoon phase.
