Hey all,

I've read before that small things like "carry my purse" "can you fill my drink" are some level of shit tests to see if you have some balls.

And I think that's right. you don't want to set the standard that she can expect to ask you to do something for her that she can clearly do herself (I mean, sometimes it's ok, like if she has a headache or is sick).

So let's say hanigng out with a girl you're interestd in, she asks you some request she can do herself. I was hanging out with a girl and she asked me to get her some water. I said sarcastically "oh, i didn't know you had no arms or legs". But I think I may have said it too mockingly.

I think that in these situations you can't say it in a way that gives them ammo to think you aren't a gentleman, because they are lookign for that, but at the same time, you have to set a standard they can't just ask for requetss that an adult woman can do herself.

So how do you set the right tone and what framework can you use to not have it come off as angry, overly assertive, or mocking, when you tell her in some way to do something herself, for the situation to stay friendly, and set the standard that you aren't just going to be ordered around for things she can do on her own?
