Jesus, did you marry my ex? Spent years trying to enlighten that mental midget to the ways wisdom. She of course played the chameleon to a tee and played like she understood, all of it make-up, not even skin deep. Now she's devoted herself to "spiritualism". You know, the self-indulgent buffet bar that is the world of woo-wooism. She's being "trained" in reki, big on yoga and energy healing bullshit. She laid it on so thick, it actually made me revisit all previous impressions I had of her; to make serious corrections, of course. Funny what you'll believe about someone when you love them, it's very distorted for men, due to the low quality of females these days, I believe. Put a man in prison for life, and some will even 'make do' with that situation sexually speaking... I think this same pattern plays out as women continue to drift towards idiocy. Gotta keep a very careful eye on those hormones, they don't just make you want sex, they also make you want other things you shouldn't really 'want', thus your conscious mind will lie about the quality of whomever you've settled for.

Know exactly what you mean. It is part of why I am working on my escape. Mine tried to start a small graphics/printing business in a crowded local market.

The business plan was sound. However, the flooded market and her poor credit played against her. She did not get the loan she needed. Her credit and finances got worse when it was time for quarterly taxes and shit.

Then, she closes that down, pays off debts, blames it on me, gets some factory job, and 3 days shy of her first paycheck puts a title loan on the vehicle we had at the time. I told her several times when she asked, that she shouldn't do it.

We know how well that went. She "needed" that thousand dollars right then and there (nowhere near true and we know she could have waited but...instant gratification and wanted to feed her face and stuff it full of fatty cakes...part of why I am overweight. Only difference for me is that I am working on getting rid of it.). Fast forward a year and she files for bankruptcy. That becomes my fault as well...somehow...even though I told her not to get the title loan, or she would end up filing for bankruptcy.

A year ago I am told by her what I have been hearing off and on for a while now. This time it sinks in. She flat out tells me that because I am a disabled veteran that she saw me as a meal ticket and atm. She only wanted me for reproduction. She has never, doesn't, will never respect me regardless of what is said/done. In the same breath she goes back to lovey dovey.

All I can say is that it was bound to happen. AWALT. Self-gratification when they get the tingles about anything. Fuck whatever and whomever stands in their way. When it doesn't go their way/they fail/get caught, it is always someone else's fault. Typical woman.

Just hang in there until you can get free. You will be free and relaxing before you know it. That is what I tell myself to keep myself going. Good luck.

My ex-wife fine-tuned her poor financial decision making process... She actually thought more credit card debt increases one's credit score, spending 8 hours + $40 of ingredients for making two loaves of bread was a good way to "save money" at the beginning of the pandemic, or running up $5000 on a credit card then shreding the statements for 5 months makes the debt magically disappear. My mother is a perfect example of this idea. Even when my family had a 6 figure income (in the, 90s which was pretty damn good then) she doesn't money like water, money she didn't make of course, and nothing got saved for retirement. After she divorced and work retail jobs, she still spent money on expensive take out and can barely part her bills. She somehow convinced a dude to leave her money in his will, he kicked the bucket and left her like $100k. The money was gone within a few months. Granted, she used a lot of it as a down payment on a house, but she's didn't have the skills or income to pay property taxes or upkeep. She could have banked the money, investment some, gotten a small apartment or mobile home and loved comfortably for the rest of her life. Instead, she'll likely get the home repoed and be mooching off her sisters or some other gullible dude. A parasite to the end.

I learned from my Dad's mistake - never get married. I could fill a book with all the stupid shit my Mom wasted money on, and how she is an independent businesswymyn who makes almost no money at all, year after year. My Dad foots all the bills for everything so she can pretend to be businesswymyn. She's had several investment debacles that led to me and my Dad having to put in a fuckton of work just to get out of it at a mild loss (no, I wasn't paid anything). They've even lost a house due to her financial stupidity. And get this, the fucking guy still lets her control finances! Absolutely unreal. Never would I get married, not for a million bucks.

Man, I feel you. I got married right before my 21st birthday because I was tired of partying with my idiot friends and was trying to get a head start on building a life.

My wife was pretty old school and kind religious when I met her, and she was reserved and nice to be around. We were each other's second lay, so that was a fairly level field.

It all changed eventually. I'll spare the details, but it involved her becoming friends with a bunch of bitter, fat, feminists. Over a few years, she totally wrecked our finances, then busted my balls for not providing a more stable environment to have kids. I took promotions over that time, while she kept the same shitty job (she's still there. I am 31 now), yet I was never enough. I tried.

Nowadays, she's covered with tattoos, smokes, had a brief stint with some head meds, and slept with at least three other guys within a year after me, before somehow bagging a long term simp with an MBA.

I got out at 28, and I have managed to build a net worth around 100k. Imagine where I would be, had I not incurred her 40k worth of stupid financial decisions in my early 20's.

I still love her, if I'm being completely honest, but damned if my life isn't better now in every way. I was pre-hypertensive the entire time we were together, but my blood pressure has been textbook perfect since I left. I am healthier at 31 than at any time during my 20s.
