Yes, but this content was being shown and taught to 5 year olds in the pre-k classes WITHOUT their parents being informed.

We can discuss that kids do need to be taught sex-ed and how the reproductive system matures and functions... but I think that content involving masturbation and anal sex is obviously inappropriate for the school to teach AND as content for 5 year olds.

5 year olds should be learning basic consent in the form of asking to play together, asking to share toys, no hitting, etc. Very simple lessons that form the groundwork for respecting other people... not the intricacies of sex or about sexual pleasure.

If the content makes the adults on the board uncomfortable, how could it possibly be acceptable to introduce to kids who are still learning to count from 1-10, names of basic shapes, and coloring inside lines?

I'm no expert here. Maybe i can tell you more after next semester, when i'll be tutoring for developmental psychology I.

Children show exploratory behaviour at any age, and when it comes to their own body, that curiosity doesn't stop. Freud's findings among others are are antiquated, just to put this out there. They try out different roles (e.g. being asked with "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and answering with "A mom"), realize that different sensations are being elizited from different regions of their body. Sometimes pain, sometimes pleasure. Afaik, you can't really call that masturbation in the same sense adolescents and adults practice it. It's not really done with a specific goal. It just feels good to them, and then they stop. If there are any more specific questions, don't hesitate to hit me up. In case i won't be able to answer right away, i will run them past my prof.
