No, we are not. We are pretty direct and unhumorous people (not all, especially the younger generation not) but thats why tourist get the illusion of us being harsh. If you are a german you either have no sense of humor at all, you have a bad sense of humor or you have a good sense of humor (pretty rare tho).

French here. I met a lot of Germans, been to Germany and my experience is not that Germans are cold. Quite the opposite. Very fun people, like to party, pretty much like anyone else really!

we aren't distant like the nordic countries, but not as open and outgoing as the US americans. Imagine it as having to surpass a threshold for random interaction on the streets. i.e. I need to know the time, so i'll ask for the time

I live in Germany as an immigrant. So far the natives have been pretty nice to me. But I live in quite a liberal area full that has a lot of Indian and Chinese immigrants so that maybe the reason.

Swedish men are paying the price for their feminist activism. In 2018, Sweden passed the bill to recognise all sex as rape until proven sex by the accused which is impossible if the accuser is lying. Now Sweden's conviction rate is 75% which they are saying is still not enough.
I don't know if I can have sympathy for Swedish men who identified as feminist and were convicted based on false accusation. Before I hear their side of the story, my first question will be if they are feminist. If they say yes, I'll just say then believe the accuser and walk away.

This statement hides most of the details. If the accuser is saying that the accused was with her and he raped her, that's enough for her to prove that the crime was committed. If the accused admits they had sex, that's also an evidence of crime. Following this law, Sweden's conviction rate is 75% which wouldn't have been possible if the burden of proof was not on the accused to prove that it was sex, not rape.
They also introduced new type of rape called negligent rape.
Sweden’s 2018 rape law also introduced a new offence of negligent rape for cases where courts found consent had not been established, but that the perpetrator had not intended to commit rape.
This is not even possible. They are talking about "regret after sex" which has been quietly changed to negligent rape.

Sounds interesting. Do you have sources for that 75% number at hand? What i read, that it rose 75%, not TO 75%. Meaning, that a base conviction rate (let's just pick a random 10%, i don't know, what the real base rate is) gets multiplied by 1.75 to 17.5%. Am i wrong here? The way i see it is, that the definition of rape was expanded (we can also see an increase in reports). Whether or not we agree with the expanding of definitions only really matters, when we read the laws themselves and get an interpretation from swedish judicial experts on how they are going to be used.
Also, let's imagine a situation: 2 people have sex, one later claims it was negligent rape. One says, that consent was given, on says it wasn't. Western style judicial systems can't convict for rape there.

What's happening there exactly? 75% conviction rate is not like that the accused was actually a rapist just because they classified all sex as rape.
They got the "Unintentional rape" law going. I just read the first verdict hastily years ago. I recall the accuser "advertising her consent app" and the accused was found guilty. Oddly enough he would have gotten less time if he was found guilty of a actual rape..
I struggle with finding an English term, it's not Unintentional rape, the verdict was very clear that the defendant had not raped anyone but should have verified the consent more frequently or SOMETHING. The app never took off so I guess the "victim of consentual hookup" and the oh so random app . But it was a ridiculous verdict.
"The defendant did not rape anyone and will serve twice the same time at Swedens finest care facility, free living, health care, dental, special nutrition, interpretor, gym, etc and it's now 1y for 1 crime! Try out our mass discount, get less time per crime with more convictions!

It's been a few years since I recall "rape" wasn't investigated often. I had a coworker that got stabbed badly (almost died) and the attacker was identified by witnesses and his info was handed over to the local police.
Weeks later the man kills his GF, with the same knife. Then they decided to go pick him up...
He had just gotten out of prison for trying to kill his pregnant ex. Also a knife. Though that was more of a "heads off while she slept" kind of thing. This in a small rural town.
