When I was younger I always found myself to be a dreamer, I had thousands of different visions but I never accomplished any of them. I wanted to be a writer but rather than devote myself to learning the craft, from studying at the foot of the masters, I expected that one day these magical words would begin to just pour out of me, they would create some perfect work that would excite the masses and I would be crowned some sort of modern day poet-warrior and never have to struggle again. I dreamed of being a singer, but instead of working on my craft, on sharpening my skill in both songwriting and my own vocal abilities, instead of working hard in dingy bars and street corners I instead strummed a few chords from time to time and lied to myself and said to myself and the world that I was on the verge of a breakthrough.

I was an entity with 10,000 paths but I never had any grounding vision. I was a wandering spirit, flitting to and fro like an anxious pixie without ever landing. In the area of women I found some success, many of them seemed drawn in by my grand dreams, as well as the little of TRP rules I actualized I was able to get laid often enough, but sooner or later, the women I was with ended up tired of me and left, even the ones I actually liked, the ones I wanted to hold on to, these ones would leave as well. To them, I was still a cautious marriage of a young boy and a man. I had a man's body, but a child's mind, and although that is somewhat appealing, the innocence of youth, it was unsustainable. Although it seemed like to the outsiders that I had it all together, I was a loser. I didn't work, I didn't create, I didn't do anything but dream, and rather than make my dreams reality I instead lived inside the dreams. This broke through to me after the one-two punch of losing my girlfriend and then my job in the span of one week, and about a month later I was kicked out of my apartment. I was a broke, homeless 21-year old with big dreams. I had dropped out of college because I didn't want to learn, I thought I knew everything. I was soon back in my parents house, deemed a failure by most everyone I knew.

I took a crappy job and devoted myself to it, this job felt low to me and I felt as though I was selling myself short, but it was all I could find. For the first time in my life, I became attached to a vision, which was to rise beyond this station. Soon enough, I was able to get promoted, to get stable income, and eventually to move on to a better job. With women, I found having a stable ground was more appealing to them. I still had the exciting air of some dreaming entity, but it was tempered with the manliness of action. This is what separates the great man from the weak.

When Julius Caesar says to his men, we are going to conquer all of Gaul and Britannia, it is easy to see his dreams as unrealistic. And yet he achieved them. This bothered me. What separates the Caesars from the lowlifes, the scum? Is it merely opportunity, is it merely their own natural talent? Many other men have had dreams of conquest. Why do men like Napoleon conquer Europe while others fall to the wayside? It is because these men marry their vision with action.

If Napoleon had remained a mere boy in Corsica dreaming of becoming emperor, the world would be all together different. Napoleon said that he would obtain power, and he spent his life chasing after this goal. This is what separates the wheat from the chaff. The great man will dream and then put forward plans and actions to accomplish his dream. I promise you now, the mere action of taking action will cause your dreams to become reality. This is true in business, this is true with women, with weightlifting, with the arts. Humbly seek out how to do your dream and then do it. That is the key to success in all areas. There is no quick fix, no quick guide that can turn your life around, only you and your vision can do this.
