Hello Ladies,

I want to start by saying that I will always be grateful to all of you for allowing me to see my actual value. About a year ago is when I first started lurking around FemaleDatingStrategy; back then, I was still what you could a pickmeisha, and I didn't agree with some of the things that you guys mentioned, but then, the more I thought about some things, the more sense they made.

The turning point happened about three months ago when I was on an online dating app, trying to reassure myself of my insecurities by having men pay me compliments or give me attention. It was a constant struggle to appeal to men or what was the point of being pretty if men weren't pleased with my appearance and constantly reassured me that I was attractive. ๐Ÿคก

So not long after, I met this guy on Tinder that checked all the points I had at that time; he was well-spoken, intelligent, funny, and he just seemed to be excited to get to meet me in person after only talking to him for three days.

On the third day, he messages me on Tinder, saying that he is close by in my area and wants to meet me in a park nearby. I told him that it was sudden, and I don't feel comfortable being spontaneous when meeting a new person. I definitely wouldn't want to have a first date in a park, to which he replies that he is not willing to spend money on a date when he doesn't even know if he will like me in person. Old me would have agreed with him and dragged my pickmeisha ass to the park, but at that moment, it hit me; I deserve much better than a guy that wants to take me on a date in a park.

I declined his park "date" invitation, and he started to message me every 5 minutes saying things like, "you don't know what you're missing out on," "I am willing to give you a chance," "to show you that I am a gentleman I can pick you up from your house." Like, boy, no, I definitely don't want your ass to pick me up from my house, so then I have to worry about you knowing where I live.

After this whole ordeal, I have decided that I will no longer lower my standards to appear appealing or available to men. I will no longer accept anything less than what I know that I deserve. No more, "oh that will do," no more, "maybe they don't know better," no more, " maybe that's all they can do." I will always put myself first from now on, and if any man wants to be in my life, he better treat me better than I can treat myself.
