I remember my mom nagging my dad about their finances. She wanted all the details about how much they had in stocks, the account information, etc. A couple of months later she started talking about divorce.

My ex-wife did the same thing with me. Wanted to know how much was in my retirement account, which brokerage firm was the money being held by, etc.

I didn't put two and two together until a couple of years after the divorce. But, apparently, when they start prying in your financial information, they're thinking divorce.

Went through something similar. I'm not sure what women who talk negatively about their husbands to their children expect.
As a kid, her talk made me hate my father than I grew to pity him but now as an adult, I feel like he actually deserve it for being that blind and not taking action early on.

A few years ago, I had a friendly/professional relationship with a girl who was dating a friend. We chatted when we bumped into each other. At some point, she told ME that her mother told HER that "It's just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is to fall in love with a poor man."

So, wow. Her mom was telling her to be a gold-digger.

Don't get me wrong, I'm past the red pill rage phase, I understand that due to evo biology, women are hard wired to look for a provider, and we're hard wired to look for the youngest, hottest piece of ass we can find. Tit-for-tat. (Tit-for-that?) So I try not to be angry about it and just accept it, but....it's still irritating that women will raise their daughters to be that blatant about it, while still telling their sons to be a nice guy, and that your personality matters more than your finances.

It’s a sad day when you realize that many of the nightmarish stories talked about in this sub, can and often do apply to our sisters & moms too. My mom was most definitely the exception, in fact my dad left her with zilch after 20+ years of marriage (and he wasn’t wealthy prior to marriage), but do they apply to my sister? Oh hell yes they do!

She could leave now and still be entitled to it.

My mom divorced my dad after 20 years being married, she got 45% of his pension (NY state i believe) literally she collected that because they had been married longer than 10 years she was entitled to a percentage of his pension (he worked 35 years and retired a Captain Detective i believe)

He went back to work after she did that, oh your getting 80k as a yearly retirement pay...nope, ex wife is getting half

There's always going to be somebody unhappy with you're choices. If it helps like I said to other people before that previously hurt me in my past.

I'm not mad at them either even if they hate me now for what happened some of those mistakes were mine too and I was equally as hurtful to my enemies.

I also love my father dearly.

He's divorved now but if he didn't divorce my mom, I wouldn't have a third sister now, i love both my moms but i live on my own now with my boyfriend.

And he's really all i ever needed.

There are some instances when female friendships become difficult for me to keep because a lot of them grow away from me too but i still wish them the best though, it's usually the most clever way to let some body go with love and compassion.

im terribly sorry for saying that, i usually keep my cool and try not promote hate but thats really something else.

I wouldn't be surprised if you never have talk to your mom after that.
