What do you mean exactly by rich? Just currency rich? Asset rich? I know it seems silly but if you can clearly define your goal, then it gets easier to develop a way to get there.

I grew up in the Philippines and moved to the US when I was 12. I still live in the US, I'm 38 years old now, and have stopped working. It's fair to say that I'm on a lean FIRE stage of my life.

Outside of very developed western countries, the idea goes like this. A particular job or skill will lead to financial security. You know the stereotype; be a doctor or lawyer so you can get rich. Learn how to code so you can get a good job. The same frame work is more or less followed in the west but there is much greater emphasis on entrepreneurship at least in countries where it's easier to do so.

Instead of saying, "I wish I could learn how to code", I suggest you instead learn how to develop value that others will be interested in. I say this because a job or task changes over time. There's nothing worse than getting into a career that may become obsolete or otherwise drastically changed while you are still working in that field. For example, a human truck driver wouldn't be able to find much work if the trucking industry is introduced to autonomously driving trucks in a large scale.

Also, if there are far too many people who code, then the salary will decrease as a function of supply and demand. There would be an oversupply of coding labor.

Focus on presenting value that would be in demand and be prepared to be flexible.

Join blackhatworld and just have a look round for ideas. Don't pay for anything there, it's not worth it. And dont' get in to scamming or illegal activity, not worth it.

Of the top of my head you could do anything from mTURK tasks to affiliate marketing (blogging with links, or direct (buy traffic, send to landing page etc, this is hard and expensive but insane ROI when you nail it)) to writing guides and selling them on Amazon and brand building whilst you're at it, to designing logos and branding quips and selling them on redbubble.

Studies have shown in usa the primary marker of people who are not poor is going to college and investing in stock market. If you have hunger for money getting into stock market trading or alternate investments like crypto currency can make you very rich very quick if you can find the right asset to invest/trade. Along with what someone else said about Amazon, You could start your own ecommerce based business. Of course there's a fair amount of learning to do, especially about product research and advertising. Finding a supplier and setting up shipping to either your own location or an establishment such as Amazon is fairly straightforward/easy to do.

The real success and then wealth given your effort really comes down to your product and advertising after that. Give a read into human psychology of both Males and Females and learn about what really hits a motivational Instinct.

I have been coding for 26 years, havent gotten rich yet. I think all the people here who claim to work for 10 years and then retire arent really telling us the whole story such as living with their parents or something like that. I live in the US and make over $100 and that is about enough to survive not thrive.

My advice, use your friends, live with a roomate, do what needs to be done, maybe even live with parents. Save the money invest in good non risky investments.

Many people like Tony Robbins will tell you they know what will make someone successful but he would be a fat slob if not for HGH so he is basically a fake asshole. Same with Lance Armstrong giving advice about life. (they are good friends btw).

Buy more house than you need and have room mates. Do not go full landlord anywhere you cannot just arrive on the 5th and roust a late payer. Very few more American jurisdictions offer ant landlord protection. Have a service gig, wedding dj. Dog walker . Avoid pizza Uber door dash unless you are in a good tip area and are mechanic enough to keep a second beater car going. Invest in ETF, and solo stocks early and often.

Look at every cent you spend. If its not nutrition food or something necessary to living do you really need it? Will that cheeseburger combo or yeezy shoes keep you warm when you are 80?

Oh and unless you can be top 200 in the world ditch the video games. Pure time waste designed to trigger your dopamine and oxytocin brain regions

Its gonna be tough if u are averse to science. My usual advice is to go to college in a science/healthcare field that u know will pay >$75k when u graduate and be prepared to toil away for a decade, making aggressive investments in the stock market all the while, and hope that it will hit enough so that you can retire or at least move to doing something u like in the end. Alternatively, look for a trade that may pay close to $75k if u can and do the same thing. The trade may be even better bc you won’t have to waste time in school and can start investing even sooner.
