I was actually in a similar situation when I was in high school. Difference being, I was a virgin but I was low SMV due to being considerably overweight. None of the girls I liked were interested in me, and on top of that I had pretty bad one-itis for my special unicorn.

I started just messing around, and there was one girl in my class who was nice but not hot (not ugly, and she was skinny, but very plain-looking). I went to a dance with my sexy crush (she ljbf rejected me afterwards) but I had some goofy pictures I had taken with this hottie, and Plain Jane saw them and after that I was golden with her. It's really funny how even for a low-SMV guy like me, if a girl is really attracted to you she will put up with a lot (also social proof and preselection are very helpful). And I was this fat virgin, totally clueless, fumbling around and trying to navigate these waters.

Looking back, I am quite an idiot. I said and did stupid things. I even straight up asked her via text if she was down to have sex with me (to which she said yes).

Well, I felt bad and got cold feet. She was a nice girl and she was really into me, but I just knew that I didn't like her as much and I didn't want to take advantage or hurt her feelings or something (plus I was secretly holding out for my unicorn). So, I basically walked away from guaranteed sex (and remember, I was a fat virgin senior in high school).

Well, I regretted that decision. After high school, I actually put on more weight, and a series of rejections put me in a slump. And then I was really screwed up, and remained a miserable virgin until the age of 27, at which time I spent a weekend fucking five beautiful prostitutes to finally lose my virginity and experience sex and get it out of my system.

I regret not losing my virginity sooner. I like to think that I did the right thing with Plain Jane, but if I were to go back in time I'd smash for sure.

Also, as for backlash, wtf does it matter? Maybe my situation was very different, but my buddies and I have always considered getting laid to be a good thing. A good rule to follow is fuck like an animal but talk like a gentleman; don't brag about it or talk shit about her or anything. Just let out a grin and say "I don't kiss and tell" or "why are you getting so worked up about it? Are you jealous?" or some other shit. Use this as an opportunity to practice holding frame.
