I see this all the time with the men and women in my family. When the guys are fat, they always eventually lose the weight or just stop caring

Meanwhile the women will cry about their weight 24/7, shower each other compliments like “Girl you’re perfect the way you are!” Or “You gained weight but guys love thicc girls” then go back to crying about their weight

This is a crazy comparison I haven't really thought about. This isn't "every story" and this isn't a huge majority, but the "glow up" is DEFINITELY seen as just an amazing accomplishment for men, and incredibly scrutinized / questioned for women. (Did you do this body change just to make men happy?!?!?!) And 0 times have I seen the "I look exactly the same, PRAISE ME" done by males, in any popular media.

I really don't understand how people don't think this belongs here.

If a man is fat he is "disgusting" and belittled for it.

If a woman is fat its all "yasss queen, slay!!!" and "fat acceptance!!".

That's the stark reality that some white knights here don't like to face nor accept.

The girl on the cosmo cover is a normal weight. It’s posts like these that make women hate their bodies and get anorexia. Tell me, what’s wrong with her body? How much thinner do you want her to be? Do you want her to be as thin as a child? And for the record, it’s not nice to body shame anyone, male or female. It’s stupid to say that men are forced to be in good shape, yet women are accepted being fat. I’ve seen both genders be made fun of/praised for weight loss/gain. This post is stupid.
