Twice the time her B/F spent in jail, and he did nothing wrong.

It could be argued she spend a year.

This should send a message for women to NOT make false accusations.

It shouldn't have an affect on those that have been raped in coming forward.

Reporter takes time to point out “it’s only happened twice”, presumably to drive home the lie “false rape accusations are very rare”

Then we fond out the boyfriend was only exonerated because this woman confessed to her own lies, so presumably he was jailed on her lies alone, with no other evidence (as the crime didn’t happen at all).

Therefore detection rates of false rape accusation to an extent are based on these women fessing up, which I don’t think will be the normal at all.

I find it disgusting that they think 6 MONTHS IN PRISON is “TOUGH” & even more disturbing that this type of sentencing has only happened twice.... I bet the guy had more damage than this for being completely innocent. WTF?!?

I agree with the point about media making false rape a big thing, as it has negative impacts on both genders. Men are more scared to get with women, and women who have been sexually assaulted are more afraid to come foreword

However they should still report on it, as it’s important to bring justice to those people
