The university’s rector, Frank Baaijens was on Irish radio today joyfully saying that if the right candidate couldn't be found in the whole EU they will hire women from outside the EU. So men with all the qualifications can just jog on.

[–]d_nijmegen 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it's despicable.

[–]valenin 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What exactly are they up to over there that there may not be a single person in the EU qualified to do it? Any program that specialized doesn’t get funded unless they already have an idea of who’s eligible for the ‘uniquely qualified’ positions and how amenable they are to taking them. You don’t build the Hadron collider and then post on LinkedIn to find your head researchers.

The qualified people have to want to take the job. If there is a shortage, then they may not find any takers.

Sadly this is quite common. Where I work (in a different industry) the make up is about 62% female 38% male, yet the HR strategy explicitly says recruitment of women is the top priority.

Frank Baaijens

So he's a dude himself?

White knights are the worst as they mist double virtue signal to escape feminist purges.

[–]Arthuyo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if he's so ashamed why doesn't just quit himself?

This is just the beginning of a new dark age for science.

51% male & 49% female = problematic

50% male & 50% female = diverse

0% male & 100% female = diverse 😍

One of the most degrading insults to women is to pretend they need men to step aside for women to succeed.

[–]xNOM 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't get it. They're not insulted. That's how gynocentrism works. Everyone agrees that women are children. Including women.

[–]Ody_ssey 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. They create sexism by pretending to end it.

[–]Panderjit_SinghVV 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They were doing this in the 80s in Canada. Just after the feminists legalised sex discrimination against men.

I recall an art college in Ontario proudly announcing they wouldn’t hire any men until the year 2000.

TU Eindhoven thinks that it's a progressive thing they're doing. And wear it like a badge and show how shiny their self-awarded medal is to the rest of the universities in the world. And on that regard, they're quite proud of themselves and the sheer evil set of events they've set in motion. What they don't understand is that

  1. It's a public university. The money that comes in (other than industry collaboration), and that goes to the salary of the employees, is from the taxpayers. Not just the female taxpayers, but from males too. In effect, this is a misguided gender Robinhood policy where you take from the men and give to the women.
  2. The justification they provide is that the university has a low proportion of female employees (in permanent contracts for research positions; although this might extend to temporary contracts and non-research positions as well). But low proportion of women compared to what? Other technical universities? (if you include/ focus on liberal arts universities like its neighbors Tilburg and Maastricht universities, the ratio would be different).
  3. If the positions that they're targeting are disproportionately male, and that's the rationale behind this recruitment policy, what about the other positions? Administrative positions, secretary positions, HR positions, training positions, whose ratios are quite different. Will there be an audit of these positions and another recruitment policy for those posts? What about the students? Are all bachelors, masters and other programs gonna be filled with exact 50-50 ratio? Not to mention those who don't want to conform to the genders. And what next? Religious parity? Sexuality parity? Language parity?
  4. TU/e is not a standalone entity. It survives on taxpayer euros. The same money that goes to the other TUs, to the other non-tech universities, professional colleges, vocational colleges, high schools, primary schools... It is a colossal zero sum game. TU/e is trying to bandage a hole in the ship where water is flowing in and out. There's no policy in the other institutions to accommodate or compensate for the effects of the gendered hiring policy (not to mention the international candidates who apply for those positions). Previously, TU/e stressed that it's a non-discriminatory institution and that female candidates are encouraged to apply for the vacancies (you could see that in most of the vacancies advertised). It was harmless, and it did its job- to invite the best people. After this policy, delays in hiring on account of blocking at least half the potential candidates and/ or lowering of standards is gonna drastically affect the university.
  5. It's not a private university, that can do whatever it wants. It's a public university, meaning it's public property. It's misusing its reputation and autonomy it has earned over the years, by resorting to such biased practices.
  6. By the recent census or the estimate, the women in the Netherlands outnumber men. So, by implementing this women-only hiring policy, TU/e has actively engaged in anti-minority activities.

My heart fucking bleeds to see this fate of the university of the great Dijkstra.

Dijkstra

The same guy who came up with Dijkstra's algorithm?

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's funny when you put it like that, but yes. That guy. The algorithm was named after him.

[–]xNOM 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What they don't understand is that

They full understand all of that.

Vagina is more important than all of this. See, you need to burden the world down with just the right amount of vagina to keep everyone happy, without bridges collapsing and computer chips melting. Then the men have to work twice as hard to make up for it, the world still works, and feminists get to go on with their little delusion that they're not subsidized by the male masses.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you're saying... They're not ignorant, just evil?

[–]xNOM 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's gynocentrism. It is what it is.

[–]zgembo1337 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"oh, so you're the quota hire, right?"

[–]Arthuyo 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

exactly, you know its been said.

[–]Little_Whippie 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Equal oppurtunity not equal outcome

Its also crazy seeing articles talking about how women have to "date down" with men

i have supported this sub for a very long time but why does this sub complain about women wanting mens money and then complaining about women only staff?

do you want women to take men's money or earn it themselves?

also discrimination is something that ALL people do. like I said before, many children don't get adopted becuase people discriminate and want their own genetically linked children with their DNA. that is discrimination.

also 2 year olds that get abandoned by their fathers just because they find out they aren't the father. that is discrimination to not support the child just because its not biologically yours. yes paternity fraud is horrible but I feel like the word 'discrimination' gets thrown around too much

[–]Eastuss 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Drank too much retard juice?

[–]Fiery_Emcel 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I want women to take a man's money by marrying him, raising his children, and keeping his home beautiful.

As you've pointed out with the example of biological vs adopted offspring, discrimination is a very good thing. The vast majority of women aren't suited to be engineers, and there's nothing wrong with that. Diversity - our differences - makes us stronger together.

[–]jp_mra 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We aren't complaining about women only staff. We are complaining about unfair hiring practices that accept far less qualified candidates to fill an artificial gender quota. The guy that could cure cancer now won't get hired, because some unqualified girl who will quit within a decade to start a family was the "oppressed" gender.
