Let this marinate, you have a demographic that can vote for war, but absolved from ever having to serve in it. Oh and did I forget to mention, that demographic is "oppressed".

Yea.... They really are suppressed, downtrodden victims of the patriarchy.
Whay they really wanted was never equality , but privilege, which is what they got in spades .
And they still complain.

Check out feminist response in Norway (OFFICIAL STATEMENT INCLUDED ITS SO BAD ITS FUNNY):
Lets take one issues affecting men and specifcally see what feminism (organisations not just random individuals) had to say about it. I have direct statements and policies from the feminisnt organisations. See below.
So Norway has forced male only conscription:
Firstly one party voted against it in parliment. Many of Noways feminists organisations (NKF, IAW, WILPF) were viciously against it
Here is the feminists OFFICIAL STATEMENT LOL:
“The Norwegian Association for Women’s Rights (NKF) considers female conscription as a misunderstanding of the concept of gender equality and the intentions of the Law on Equality.
TRANSLATION: DON’T DISTURB OUR FEMALE PRIVILEGE. WE LIKE GYNOCENTRISCM JUST FINE THANKS.
GIVE US PUSSY PASS
“Gender equality implies first and foremost that women and men should have the same human rights and fundamental freedoms. Women should be valued and allocated power and resources on equal terms with men. But women and men do not have to be alike or do the same things to be equal."
TRANSLATION: DON’T DISTURB OUR FEMALE PRIVILEGE. WE LIKE GYNOCENTRISCM JUST FINE THANKS
Feminists wait what are you arguing for here with that statement? Are you saying that is why women should be stay at home moms, and not pursue careers in STEM, finance, politics??
“To ensure gender equality it is important in many cases that women and men are treated equally. But they should not necessarily be treated equally in all situations.”
“In some cases, the underprivileged gender must be favoured to be able obtain similar results.”
“Actual differences between the lives of women and men must be taken into account. “
What are you saying feminists? Women shouldn’t do STEM? Why would you say that? They should stay at home and rear children?
“Women make an important contribution to society by becoming pregnant, giving birth and breast-feeding.”
WTF? Femniists have literally spent generations shaming motherhood and downgrading its status. I thought this baby stuff is crappy low value work, and women need to get into the work force and be 70% of teh CEOs etc.
“Problems related to conscription must be resolved on their own terms, not by bringing in a new, hitherto outsider group.”
HAHAH yeah men need to solve this problem. Yep. Women should stay home feminists??
“women are not supposed to change the strictly hierarchical organization of the military, which is characterized by absolute obedience on the grounds, that the soldiers should learn to defend themselves, use violence and, if necessary, kill.“
LOL WTF so men alone are though? How dare you say women should not be in parliment
“Female Newcomers are integrated into the system and the prevailing culture…”
Errmm like men are?
and women are particularly exposed in such a male dominated organization.”
Ermm so women should not want to enter STEM etc according to feminisist?
“Over the past decades, women’s roles have changed significantly more than men’s. Thus values and practices that have traditionally characterized men’s roles, have been strengthened, while values and practices that women traditionally have taken care of, have been weakened. In the current situation, however, the challenge is to strengthen women’s power and influence and promote better care practices and values such as equal status.”
LMAO it was aliterally feminists who shamed motherhood, and demonised women who care for children. Now you want it?
So women joined the coscription... but guess what they still arent 50 percent and are favoruably treated!! LMAO

Yes they should be conscripted. Make an all female battalion and put them up the front. Let them experience their own Normandy landings and Pacific theatre. Then they can moan about shit.

"Make all female battalions and put them up the front" experience ww2"
why would you assemble all women? Why? What is the reason that makes you sadistic to women?
[–]Leon_Q83 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Because women are equal to men. By not supporting an all female battalion consisting of all female ranks, and an all female command structure you’re agreeing that women are not equal to men.
[+]Whatthefuzzybear -9 points-8 points-7 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Whats concerning is that youre trying to estimate that all women should experience normandy just because their women? As a guy i would not like to be in a ww2 and neither will i desire anybody to experience such a tragedy.
[–]Leon_Q83 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I’ve been told that women are equal to men. Throughout history men have traditionally been the cannon fodder. In the next big war women will be equally active in combat zones. It’s what women want. You’re not saying that in such a situation that women should be given a pass? Maybe we should only send men to die in wars?
Remember women are equal to men.
[+]Whatthefuzzybear -9 points-8 points-7 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Im only concern about what you said primarily advocating brutal equivalence. I wouldnt be concerned if you said "women are equal to men because equal opportunities" rather than "all women should go to war because let them die like this disaster".
[–]Leon_Q83 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
+1 for your reading comprehension.
An all female battalion doesn’t equate to every woman in the world. I said create an all female battalion. That’s roughly 500 women. How many male infantry battalions exist in the US army? I’m saying create just one all female battalion equal to their male peers. Vanguard front facing infantry. Led by female soldiers. Let them experience the cannon fodder role previously exclusive to males.
Equality.

[–]Nomahhhh 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I honestly don't know - are women allowed on 'the front lines' alongside men right now? Say there is another Vietnam where troops are deployed into the jungle for a couple of days at a time. Are men and women sent in there together into 'the shit'? Are they expected to hike for days with a full pack, carry wounded soldiers, brawl with the enemy by hand if need be?
[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Yes
[–]brofesor 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Are you sure? If yes, I don't understand why they have lower physical requirements. I think that women are a huge liability because they may be unable to carry wounded men who weigh let's say 30kg more than them, for example.
[–]floatcoastjog 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
As a dude who outweighs many of my peers, I have men in my unit who can't carry me out. I'm a 350lbs juggernaut with a standard loadout. Your idea of what is a liability is far from reality.

[–]brofesor 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I was speaking in general terms based on averages. The average man is stronger and heavier than the average woman, and since the physical requirements aren't the same, I bet the military is no exception. If women were subject to the same requirements, I would see no reason to consider them a liability.
[–]FridKun -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Having double the manpower outweighs lower quality of recruits.
Jokes aside, I don't think there will be another Vietnam (I mean, we fought Iraq and Afghanistan with volunteers just fine) and I am not 100% certain that even WWIII will involve mass mobilization. But if it does, again, quantity>quality.

[–]FridKun 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Some European countries take it more seriously.
[–]BenTVNerd21 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's so unlikely to happen it's seems totally unnecessary and surely if it did there would be more than enough volunteers?
[–]FridKun 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
To my best knowledge, all developed nations stopped using drafted people in wars. It only exists for emergencies, in case shit REALLY hits the fan.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Here’s the thing, we shouldn’t be pushing to get women in the draft, we should be pushing to get men OUT of the draft. But because the government wants their disposable pawns, it’ll never happen.
[–]FissureKing 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe it would be more likely if women were subject to it on an equal level.
[–]FridKun 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In all developed countries draft exists as emergency tool in case something like WWIII happens. And as much as you can agitate for reasonable and humane governments in democratic nations, you don't really have any influence on Russia, Iran and China.

Not true at all. The article says a study found almost the opposite.
In a 2016 Rasmussen Reports poll, 61% of men favoured extending the draft registration to both sexes while only 38% of women supported doing so. That said, both men and women are not keen about the draft in general. Only 29% of all voters support it, according to the 2016 poll.

Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. The law says men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday.
Women in America don't have to do this. You must be a woman?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
This is borderline sexist though. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to serve?
If we are talking US, they are allowed to serve voluntarily, but they do not have to register for the draft. US draft is more of a formality and agreement to be mobilized in case of an emergency.
There is a law requiring all US men to register for draft or face fines\jail time, but it has never been enforced.
[–]benharlow77 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
