Women rape men at about the same rate as men rape women.

Knowing that, what is the cause of women fearing men because of rape, while men seem to not fear it as much?

Is it because the level of fear is absolutely representative of the level of risk someone is in? It can't be, given that both are equally at risk.

Then the disparity in level of fear can be due to two things : a natural propensity to be more afraid. And exposure to people telling you you should be afraid. Now, what could be the source of them thinking they should be afraid?

As for being afraid of men... Rape is committed by a handful of individuals who are repeat offenders. It's no more rational to be afraid of men because of rapists than it is to be afraid of black people because of gangs. In both cases it misses the fact that gangs are not only composed of black people, and that they are a small fraction of them at best.

So, as someone suggested, the r/menkampf approach could be the right one :

And any other comment from any man on here who’s never been raped is invalid. Only someone who’s suffered something so traumatic should be able to have an opinion on how her friend is choosing to heal in her grief. She won’t be like this forever, but right now she’s angry and trying to take back the power that was stole from her in the safest way she can. It’s not something to argue with her about but to love her through... if you were any friend at all.
