Feminists have long complained about loopholes in laws that allow rapists to gain visitation and custody rights. They are right about that - if a man forcibly rapes a woman and she becomes pregnant, he should never have any access to the child. Male rape victims having to pay child support is the flip side of the coin. I wonder when the NYT or WaPo will run an article about it.

[–]Gimpy1405 122 points123 points124 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

when the NYT or WaPo will run an article about it.

I'm not holding my breath...

[–]mgtowolf 67 points68 points69 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Can confirm, held breath, am ded now.

[–]SimpleQuantum 34 points35 points36 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

F

[–]skgody 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You no longer have to pay child support.

[–]SicilianOmega 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes he does. Death is no excuse. He needs to quit wallowing in his grave and get a job.

[–]skgody 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fucking dead beat dead dad.

[–]mk25diver 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Uhhh... actually they did.

Feel free to breathe again.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

The "loophole" is that they can make a claim.

No judge is going to give a convicted rapist custody.

[–]AbjectSociety 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I've heard of cases where the rapist got visitation rights as long as they weren't sex offenders.

I read an article similar to this one but he was 14 in Arizona, US. She suddenly found his info 6 years later and sued him for back child support and refuses visitation!

[–]WRZESZCZ_1998 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

rapist

weren't sex offenders

The what?

[–]AbjectSociety 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they weren't required to register as a sex offender* not everyone with a sexual crime on their record is a registered sex offender

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Without knowing more that sounds like they were never convicted

[–]AbjectSociety 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If I remember correctly, it was dropped because his parents didnt want to deal with it. Some states have a statue of limitations for rape. Its likely why she waited until the girl was 6, so the girl couldn't be used as evidence of the rape.

[–]Mens-Advocate 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wrong. Female rapists often retain custody.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm referring to male rapists.

Female rapists don't get convicted of rape either.

[–]RyansPutter 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"No judge is going to give a convicted rapist custody."

Judges do a lot of stupid things. Just look at half of SCOTUS.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's just idle speculation.

[–]someguy92614 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But they did when they made the man who was raped pay child support. The woman, who raped the child, got to keep the child they made.

[–]eldred2 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unless the convicted rapist is a woman.

[–]InformalCriticism 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They would be forced to consider people's rights, and they don't want to do that, because it's the same logic that keeps women off of government assistance when they sperm jack/sabotage contraception/lie to get pregnant and force unwilling fathers to pay for children they never intended to have -- all the while under the same legal regimes that allow abortions.

[–]jordantask 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have it pencilled in for “as soon as the faux moral outrage over their lack of comment becomes publicly unsustainable or such an article would generate enough page hits for some advertising money.”

[–]mk25diver 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In 1993 they did run an article. Back when this actually happened. This case happened a long time ago.

[–]Nobody13XIII 65 points66 points67 points 6 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

It's insane how many women can flat out just be pedophiles and rapists and it just gets overlooked cause they're women.

[–]AbjectSociety 24 points25 points26 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is there even a registry for them? So few actually got the status

[–]brayeeee 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

From this article, the rapist had conducted ‘child misconduct’. Patriarchy is the best! Judicial systems totally unbiased!

[+]piss1000000 -10 points-9 points-8 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

ok, incel

[–]Ditnoka 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lmao. You’re an idiot. This vein of conversation happens everyday, especially with female teachers.

[–]Nobody13XIII 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This isnt an "InCeL" problem. The problem is that rapists and pedophiles should all be treated as pedophiles and rapists and shouldnt be given any leeway or benefits regardless of their gender.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points42 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's really scary that there seems to be a law that adult women can rape a child, get pregnant and then demand money from the child they raped.

And the judge is like "ya'z cool man"

[–]AbjectSociety 23 points24 points25 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All cause "women are naturally mothers"

Hell no, I've seen some shit mothers. Child support is a fucked up system that doesn't actually help the kid.

[–]jameseglavin4 94 points95 points96 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The use of the term “exploited” in this article continues to trivialize the rape it’s trying to bring attention to. Gross, call it what it is - rape.

[–]DamnIamHigh_Original 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah that would mean they accknoledge that women can rape too, but we all know thats not true /s

[–]Tmomp 62 points63 points64 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Rape culture.

Institutionalized sexism hurting men and boys.

[–]aranboy522 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I made a subreddit called r/malerapevictims where I want to raise awareness about situations such as these

[–]mrtibbles32 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Daily reminder that all the regular child support rules apply here.

If someone hits him with a car and he cant work he's gonna go to jail because he cant afford to pay his rapist for the child he didnt want.

The rapist herself could break his legs with a crowbar and he'd still go to jail for not paying child support.

[–]chadwickofwv 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The rapist herself could break his legs with a crowbar and he'd still go to jail for not paying child support.

She would also not be punished for breaking his legs with a crowbar.

" The Kansas Supreme Court ruled against him. The judgment stated that because Seyer initially consented to the sexual encounters and never told his parents what was happening, he was responsible for supporting the child."

a 12 cannot consent? wtf

[–]matt271202 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don’t tell your parents = not rape /s

[–]1LegendaryWombat 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well thats just dumb. So I guess if I go and sleep with a 12 year old girl, who is fully consenting, and she keeps it a secret...thats okay?

No...no it would not be okay. I am many years older than 12, there is no excuse. Oh, but i guess I need a vagina for that, curses!

This whole system of 'man agrees to sex, therefore regardless of any actions the woman takes, they're responsible for what happens' is ridiculously sexist. At the bare minimum you'd think they'd make an exception for children, preteens for sure, but nooooope.

[+]NotKnownHinson2 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Depending on the state and age difference yes they can. Saying shiet like this makes the sub look stupid. You can't spread misinformation and expect a movement to gain any amount of traction. Trump is a fluke not the rule.

[–]englishfury 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The other party was found guilty of statutory rape.

For it to be statutory rape Romeo and Juliet laws do not apply, and the 12 year old in question could not have consented.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is so messed up

[–]MyDeathTherapy 31 points32 points33 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I tried to talk to my mom about it and the first thing out of her mouth was 'She might have been a very childish 16-year old. That they both made wrong decisions. That he was lying when he said he didn't want it. That the true victim was the child.' And totally disregarded that a 12-year-old had to pay child support. She said to cut her some slack. Because 16-year-olds don't really understand either. It isn't so bad because they were close in age.

[–]matt271202 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Tell her the story roles reversed see how it is, minus child support

[–]MyDeathTherapy 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I'm planning on doing this. What got me so mad was that she couldn't understand that being to young to consent and understand didnt mean he said yes. She was acting like I proved her point.

[–]matt271202 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Because just how you are raised even if my eyes and I wish I didn’t see it this way but a 16 year old with 12 year old girl just sounds worse, just how feminism infects minds.

[–]MyDeathTherapy 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Same! Hearing about a 16 year old boy and 12 year old girl sounds worse. I know its not, they're just as bad, but it's like subconscious.

[+]KiNgOfSpEEdOJaCK -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

"As bad"

Heck no. I'm sorry but no. I'm a boy(16M) who's heavily against feminism and SJWs, yet I admit that being raped by women is NOT the same as being raped by a man. One has little to no effects while the other one has so many effects and dangers and much pain.

[–]Tinktur 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

yet I admit that being raped by women is NOT the same as being raped by a man. *One has little to no effects while the other one has so many effects and dangers and much pain. *

Ehh, what??

[–]KiNgOfSpEEdOJaCK -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You want me to admit it? Being raped by women has little to no effects. That's a fact.

Nothing too bad will happen to you if your young dick got into another woman's vagina.

[–]WRZESZCZ_1998 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Std, her being pregnant and you having to pay child support, the emotional trauma itself.

[–]KiNgOfSpEEdOJaCK -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I never said anything about the law(I agree that they should have the same consequences when it comes to law)

I was talking about that comment which said that they are same. You are in denial if you think a penis inside is the same as your penis inside her.

[–]Mackowatosc 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its a woman, so not understanding is a given

One of the major problems MRAs are reluctant to acknowledge, is that women favour women regardless of truth or morality:
https://news.uns.purdue.edu/html4ever/2004/041213.Goodwin.gender.html

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is assinine, a 12 y/o is a child nowhere near the age of consent, while at 16 she is the age of consent in a lot of states. Rape is rape, so much for equality... Shame on the courts and all who railroaded this poor boy and his family! This should've been fought all the way to the Supreme Court.

[–]slayer5934 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The child has to pay child support, NEAT.

[–]TheDrunkenChud 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck is this part though:

34-year-old woman became pregnant after sexually exploiting a 15-year-old boy. He was also forced to pay child support, and then Deputy Attorney General Mary Roth alleged:

“I guess he thought he was a man then. Now, he prefers to be considered a child.”

Who fuck? Jesus that's toxic.

[–]skgody 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think you shouldn’t pay for children you don’t see. Child support is theft.

Is there a case citation or is the record silent? How does a minor have a legal status of obligor? Maybe bad or flawed legal prosecution? This is they type of thing that needs more attention at the state level. Disgusting outcome if true.

You know I'm gonna take a lot of shit for saying this but I have been privy to a lot of unknown shit about this world. Been around a lot of powerful people I wish I never met. When people(society) make such obviously illogical decisions like this I just have to wonder how much more proof I need to find that the world is under massive mind control. Overtly and covertly. Laugh at me all you want, call me insane and dismiss me, they are counting on it... I assure you.

[–]Taser-Face 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Privy to a lot of unknown shit and powerful people, okay sure, cite some examples that are actually rooted in reality.

[–]Tkx421 -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Ever heard of Cassandra.

[–]FunshineBear14 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I'll save y'all a Google, since commenter is a piece of shit. Cassandra was a Greek myth, woman who was cursed to tell true prophecies but nobody would believe her.

Commenter thinks they're enlightened, but nobody will listen to them, therefore they don't need to actually explain anything they claim.

Classic.

[–]Tkx421 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

yea man, putting the word Cassandra into the bar at the top of your browser is fucking hard work.

[–]FunshineBear14 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

It's not about that. It's that you're trying to school people while not actually saying anything. It's bullshit. If you have a point, make it. Don't allude to a point and tell people who ask for clarification to go figure it out themselves.

That's a shitty way to get anyone to listen to you. Maybe if Cassandra wasn't such an ass people would have listened to her.

[–]Tkx421 -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Dude, you really think if I sat here and wasted my time explaining things people would listen. Either they are gonna listen or not. People make up their minds as soon as they hear "mind control". Like they actually know what's possible. I could name a tons of things that have been done that people thought were not possible or not happening(or to this day don't even realize has been done to people). My own great-uncle killed himself because they were testing LSD on Vietnam vets. Here's your link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgewood_Arsenal_human_experiments

These people are so secretive and manipulative you can't even fathom how evil they actually are. You think I'm an ass hole for not providing a wikipedia link and I'm talking about people who will (can) literally make you forget that you just sucked their dick and they'll pretend it never happened. There is no amount of information I could provide that will assuage people who won't believe. I've been there. I didn't and wouldn't believe it either. They literally said to me I could have and do whatever the hell I wanted(if I did what they wanted me to do) and I didn't believe them because "that's not possible". Well I found out how wrong I was trust me. I tell people all the time that I've been told TO MY FACE what they are capable of and even seen it first hand and people don't listen. When someone tells you to your fucking face nobodies gonna believe you and the whole reason they do it is "because they can" you'd be irritated too.

[–]FunshineBear14 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Have you tried providing the information?

At least Cassandra made prophecies. You're just saying "There's crazy shit out there!" And when someone asks you what, you just say "Nah you wouldn't believe me."

Fuck off with that. Tell me or stfu.

[–]Tkx421 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Except I did and you're just proving my point. It doesn't matter what I say. You're either gonna listen or you're not.

[–]FunshineBear14 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You didn't give any examples of fucked up shit you've seen. You said one thing about an uncle who was part of the LSD experiments, which at this point are fairly well known.

You're alluding to it, you're giving dramatic scenes where you've been told stuff. But what stuff? What mind control? How? Give information.

[–]matt271202 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[+]Karissa36 -13 points-12 points-11 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This is actually gender neutral. When an underage girl gets pregnant by an adult man she also still has a duty to support the child. Let's face it now that occurs with underage girls a heck of a lot more often. So who here thinks that the adult men in this situation should be solely 100 percent responsible for supporting the child for the next 18 years? Assume a 15 year old girl with a 21 year old boyfriend. She gets pregnant but manages to graduate from college and get a good job when the child is about 6 years old. Who here thinks that her income should not be included when calculating child support?

If it's good for the goose it is good for the gander. Get used to it. Also it looks very stupid for these posts to endlessly be recirculated here about these extremely few underage boy has to support his child cases WHEN IT LITERALLY HAPPENS TO UNDERAGE GIRLS ALL THE TIME.

[–]RoryTate 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

When an underage girl gets pregnant by an adult man she also still has a duty to support the child.

You are completely ignoring her option of giving the child up for adoption because she cannot support it. Or that she can take advantage of Safe Harbor laws if she wants. Neither of those options are available to him only because he is a man. Yet you can still claim that a female rapist is the one that deserves our sympathy and support. Wow, rape culture much?

[+]Karissa36 -7 points-6 points-5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Very few babies are given up for adoption and close to none to Safe Harbor. Even if she chose those options if the father wanted the baby then he would get full custody and she would have to pay child support. She also has the option for abortion and he doesn't. Frankly, I don't give a shit. It is biology and that is not changing. She does not have the option to make him carry and deliver the baby. Also biology and also not changing.

I did not say that a female rapist is the one that deserves our sympathy and support. Work on your reading comprehension. I said that the law in these circumstances is gender neutral and thus this is not a men's rights issue. If you don't like the law then change it for everyone because the law applies to everyone. Stop acting like this is some special injustice that only affects men when in fact a far greater number of women are affected.

[–]RoryTate 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very few babies are given up for adoption and close to none to Safe Harbor.

So what if it is relatively few? Looking the stats up, a quarter million adoptions a year, with half of those occurring in the US, is certainly not insignificant. Regardless of the numbers though, women still have the option, while men don't, and that is due to legal reasons, not biological. Women choose not to take advantage of adoption because they know they will get significant financial and social support from everywhere if they are single mothers. Meanwhile, single fathers who are children themselves get zero assistance, support, and are put in jail the moment they fail as walking ATMs. Women in prison? Nah, feminists are getting all the female prisons closed down. Yeah, that all sounds really "gender neutral" to me.

I did not say that a female rapist is the one that deserves our sympathy and support.

You support a law that includes female rapists – and only female rapists – in its implementation. If you didn't want to endorse the rape of men, you wouldn't have argued in favour of that law.

Yeah, you're doing a shit job presenting your argument. You're making it seem like your stance is "tough shit, if it sucks for girls it should suck for boys."

Fuck outta here with that, it's not productive. How about instead we say "man, this is fucked up. Any victim of rape should not be obligated to support child products of that rape, as their agency in that decision was robbed of them." Let's make that the gender-neutral standard.

Coming in here with your eye-for-an-eye shit is a surefire way to get absolutely fucking nothing done.
