I really dont mind who I see in the bathroom with me, as long as they dont try to strike up a conversation while my shy bladder tries to work. We're all there for the same reason so just do it and wash your hands.

I just want to point out I think there is something inherently flawed with what you seem to be suggesting with this question. People who say trans women risk being assaulted aren't saying the average man would just jump onto any trans woman the second they enter the bathroom. The average man will never do something like that in his life, because the average man is a nice person just going about their day. Moreover, the average man will barely ever see a trans person at all, much less witness their abuse, which usually happens behind closed doors. On the other hand, the average trans woman lives with it every single day, and I'm ready to bet she experiences some form of abuse at least once in her life. So, asking random men about their perception of how trans women are or would be treated doesn't give you much insight on the problem.

The issue is actually about men in women's private spaces not vice versa. women have invaded male spaces since forever and there's nothing anyone can do about it. and in toilets we don't really care except when they're being pricks about it (dominating the facilities because their queue is too long, evicting men because of privacy, being gross).

It's not a trans issue across the whole thing; it is specifically about predators, posing as women, stalking in a place where women and girls are vulnerable (eg Jessica yaniv). in men's toilets we do what we're there to do then we're out, no socialising. If a trans man is trying to pass as a man no one would notice; he'd go in, do whatever, and then leave

Not sure I really care about the whole 'who goes in who's bathroom' issue. I'd be a bit surprised that a trans woman wanted to go in the men's room though, I thought we were letting these men go with the females now.

private business, private rules.

Public restrooms should be based off of gender identity, assuming there is a real effort to transition.

Public lockerrooms, particularly for minors such as at schools should be based off of your biological sex unless you are post op I think.

My thoughts on it are the same as with any other group I don't belong to: I literally don't care as long as you don't force something on me or try to involve me in it in any way. I've been friends with Jehovah's Witnesses and satanists, people across the entire LGBT spectrum, and people on both sides of the political divide and, so long as they don't try to force their views on me, involve me in their shit against my will, or attack me or my ideals, I don't care.

Most of us who aren't SJWs or deranged left wing fanatics (not the "I vote Democrat because I agree with their policies" ones, the "if you vote for Republicans you're the scum of the earth and a traitor to your gender/race/religion or a misogynist/racist/islamaphobe!" ones) probably feel the same way: who cares so long as they don't try to make you do shit you're not comfortable with or start arguments over you disagreeing with them?

2) Whatever i have to TOUCH in the bathroom, i want to be mine, clean, or at least inanimate.

Let's be honest here: You don't check the genitals of the people you go to the bathroom with. It's about social presentation, and regarding that MTF should be in the women's bathroom, FTM should be in the men's bathroom. End of story.

I am honestly just not sure what to feel about transgenderism in general. It just seems like the very idea behind it is to find a way around getting into each other’s bathrooms and causing a lot of trouble. I’d say just stick to your biological sex and don’t make a big deal about it.

I served in the military and when Don't ask don't tell got repealed and our coworker came out as gay...when we had mandatory PT all the guys moved to the other set of lockers to change their clothes. I didn't change where I changed for PT in my effort to appear woke and tolerant but in my mind I felt uncomfortable changing around someone who could find my body sexually attractive. I mean my dick gets hard looking at even ugly women, so why would a gay man be different in a room full of men? it's uncomfortable to be in bathroom or changing room worry about another guy eyeing you down while you're naked.

Does it matter? Should, shouldn’t, trans people go in whatever bathroom is least likely to get us kicked out, at least, the trans people who aren’t assholes. It’s what we look like, not really our genital status, that determines that.

Institute mandatory blood tests outside of every bathroom prior to entry to establish the proper biological sex. If the tests are skewed or inconclusive, have a 3rd bathroom for “unable to identify”. Problem solved and super practical.
