Chikfila has a bit of an investment in traditional gender roles. Frankly, I approve.

The idea here is one adult + multiple kids can have an easier time of managing those kids, and in the clientele they cultivate, that is usually mom.

I also guarantee that if Dad rolls up with kids and asks for the service, they'll do it. 'Mom's' is just the most common descriptor, really not something to get worked up about.

I mean, most fast food restaurants have the exact same service without being gender specific. My guess is this is just trying to get the attention of a specific market to get the service more well known.

But ironically i do see dads as more likely to use fast food vs mothers who might be more inclined for healthier options like applebees curbside to go.

Reality is, its a dumb service when drive thru is right there.

I know for a fact that the Chickfila near me does not discriminate against gender. However, during the lunch rush, which is when this service is used the most, homeschool moms are the main customer. This is an example of societal norms being projected and used for the base and common customer.

This is chic fil a, so anything is possible if you ask nicely. Would probably get a friendly Ned Flanders type of response. Haven’t seen this sign before so this may be from a franchise owner rather than corporate. Also, I imagine they made this sign not imagining a single mother, but rather a father at work and mother taking care of the kids. They probably don’t imagine single fathers because in the ideal Chick-fil-A world, parents do not have children until after marriage, and they remain happily married for life. Maybe not reality for all, but I don’t imagine ill-will, and now really want a chicken sandwich and fries with chic-fil-a sauce.
