It gets even worse when Feminist groups try to redefine homelessness away from "living on the street" and make the definition include "living temporarily at a friend's or extended relative's house." The % of women in that group is higher than the % of women who are living on the street, so when you combine both into one "homeless" stat, it makes it appear like homelessness is more equal between men and women, when in reality it is just an obscuring of the data and a way to smokescreen the very real problems homeless men distinctively face.

Always be wary of how things are defined. Shit like this absolutely happens. See also the despicable 'one in five' stat that sees regular play.
Most people go into arguments assuming that everyone has a pretty good idea what 'homeless' means, or 'rape.' But then two (or more!) completely different statistics show up and everyone bickers about them without ever considering that someone is adding 'people living temporarily with friends' to the number of homeless people to bolster their case.

No, 72.7% don't matter.

27.3% of homeless are women 18.7% of homeless are youth
and then suddenly the metric changes to % of shelter users... one has to wonder if that wasn't intentionally done to inflate some of the numbers.
Also, if 28-34% of shelter population being indigenous is an over representation since 4.3% of the population is indigenous... Then 27.5% of homeless being women is an under representation.

Classic sympathy baiting, twisting the statistics to draw more attention to 'marginalized' groups (women, youth, "other adults", seniors, indigenous, families).
Anything to avoid using the dreaded term "MEN"

The families statistic is hilarious for a very logical reason if you think about it: it would make sense why families are there twice as long, especially in a just world: there's at least twice as many of them!

And two of the three icons are female figures suggesting 2/3rds are women instead of three male icons and one female icon.

Canada is a real cuckland... Not even mentioning a man, except to bash him for being single and homeless.
