That is a 9 year old child. Not a 'young man'.

"I don't forgive this woman and she needs help," he said.

This women does not need any help, that abomination of a human being need a kind of brain surgery.

I'm a white guy... I can't pretend to know the struggle of black men and boys. But there is a long, terrifying, and very gruesome history here... black children seen as older than their white peers, assumed to be predatory instead of innocent, and black men assumed to be hypersexual and animalistic. It's dehumanizing and it's deadly.

Even if no one has ever told him about Emmett Till... the kid's old enough to know what racism is and that he's getting the shit end of it. And he's got that innate sense that kids do when an adult is clearly a serious threat to them.

He's a little boy. He should never have to worry about this, especially at such a young age. But he does, and that in itself is a huge, hard thing to deal with. Of course he's struggling. I really hope he is able to get the support he needs, and that we in society at large can help stop this shit from happening again.

I do wonder at a statement like "he's struggling to move on" coming from a 9 year old.

Is that really something being formulated in his own, or has he been influenced by adults that are close to him?

Children are resilient, and if someone takes the time to explain in a simple format they are able to just shrug it off.

"It's not your fault, this person was wrong."

If you go on ad ~~museum~~ nauseum about it, then it's tougher for them to let it slide. If you start to layer on Racism, Sexism, Feminism and any other "ism's" to the explanation, it just gets overwhelming.
