Man, this gets me in the gut. My ex wife disappeared with my son. I found her and got custody modified to joint. That was 12 years ago. Since then she has poisoned my son against me. (I live in NY she and him in GA) she bought him a car at 15 and told him he doesn’t need to talk to me any more. I believe the car was part of that. I have not spoken to him in two years. My lawyer suggested that I not fight this until he is 18 because there is no way I can win in the court. The judge will ask my son his opinion as to what he wants. She will come after me for more money and I still won’t see him. It sucks. Only a few more months until he graduates high school and I don’t have to pay her. If he needs money though or anything he can always come to me. I’ll be there for him. Him and him alone. Sorry for the emotional all over the place ramble this really touched me.

This happened to my friend no joke. So his ex gf beat his ass and he called the police and had her arrested. She posts bail and goes over his house with her uncle who is a judo black belt and in essence takes his son by force. They go to court and she gets primary custody regardless of her abuse etc because the court felt the child was better off with her as he has been staying with her after she took him wtf.

I admit I do not know where the Plaintiff and Defendant are from, nor do I honestly know where Judge Judy is filmed, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that what the girl said about having sole legal custody is true in some cases. In Massachusetts, for example, if the two parties were not married at the time of the birth of the child, the mother automatically has sole legal custody until a court orders otherwise.

That being said, this girl definitely looks like she’s going to continue to treat her baby’s father like shit regardless of the way JJ put her in her place. What JJ said about fathers being treated like second-class citizens really hit home for me. I feel like (maybe in this new wave of “feminism”?) women have forgotten that the goal is equality, not superiority. That girl would not have had that baby if it weren’t for her sleeping with that man. If things between them went sour afterward, tough shit. Grow up, and be equal parents regardless. Things never need to be this contentious between parents. Children aren’t pawns.

I've always believed female judges to be better than male when it comes to family court or anything to do with dealing with female bullshit.

It seems like most of them are extra resistant to female bullshit because they know the tricks another woman might pull. They also don't have that incessant need to white Knight for all the women that come through.

Judge Judy always sees right through anyone's bs.
