The backstory: Munn found out that a guy working on the movie had previously gone to prison for a sex crime. Specifically, the guy hit on one of his distant relatives (second cousin, I think) for sex, by email. She was underage, he claims he didn't know, I have no idea if that's true. He was convicted, served his time, got out years ago. His actions were pretty gross that's true, but there seems to be no suggestion that he presents a danger to anyone.

However, a single woman making a complaint in the #MeToo era is more than enough to unperson a guy like that.

This raises some difficult questions, like: do we no longer say that someone who did time has "served their debt to society" and deserves a second chance, if they seem to be rehabilitated? Does a guy like that ever get to work again? Or can he only work in places with zero women, like oil rigs or doing roofing work? Do we really want to give every woman the right to singlehandedly veto the employment of any man who's ever done something gross or offensive and remotely sexual?

I posted about this elsewhere too, asking what her "concerns" were when she spoke to the film execs.

As if it needs to be said, what this dude did was pretty gross, but Munn had nothing to worry about and people have worked in the entertainment business with convicted felons, criminals, murderers, drug dealers etc. before. She had no "concerns" beyond her reputation of being in a scene w/the guy.

I've decided I'm not going to see any more films with her in them. I'll wait until they're shown on television, so I'm not funding anyone who employs this misandrist professional victim. That means it'll likely be a very long wait until I see the next X-Men movie, but with luck, she won't be in too many other films I want to see.

She made a choice based on what she felt was right, one I disagree with, but either way that has consequences. Becoming an MRA has alienated many people who I like and respect for whom I stopped existing as far as they are concerned. I made my choice and it had consequences, but I do not regret that choice. She made a choice, which made the men around her realize she is dangerous to be around.

If we believe the justice system then, yes, the guy did something wrong, and then paid his debt to society. He hasn’t been in trouble since, so should it not be argued that the system worked, and he’s been shown and is living the straight and narrow path of a responsible adult contributing to society and making his way in the world?

I don’t think he assaulted YOU in any way — I’m sure you would have spoken up about that. So according to you, his secondary judge and jury, for his transgressions he should suffer eternal damnation, scorn, rejection, and live out the rest of his life on the streets? He PAID his debt, remember? He’s SUPPOSED to emerge from his punishment and become a contributing member of society. Isn’t that what society wants? You’re making that awful hard for him to do.

Frankly, I’m glad you’re “lonely” doing interviews for your movie. I, for one, won’t be seeing it, although a movie called “predator” seems appropriate for you.
