Do you guys really think that a life sentence is a good solution to a sexual assault?

EDIT: I didn't say punishment, I said solution.

I do not say this because she is a woman. I legitimately think that we treat criminals harshly for no reason other than revenge, and that's terrible for them and the victims, since no constructive solution is made.

I am not justifying this terrible act nor making a judgement on whether she "deserved it" or not.

Switch genders, just the genders not the circumstances involved and the crowd would be howling for the death penalty, it would be all over the media with Good Morning America gravely reporting this terrible crime.
