Why are women being treated like a 'minority', when official figures clearly state there are MORE women than men in America?! AND its the same in Great Britain! How did the myth of females as 'oppressed minority' become accepted as true?

Right, it's idiotic because by definition "minority" (when referring to a demographic of people) means

a relatively small group of people, especially one commonly discriminated against in a community, society, or nation, differing from others in race, religion, language, or political persuasion

Females being slightly more than half the population does not make them a small group of people, differing from people in general

So the word "minority" is often missused to simply mean "a group that's discriminated against or disadvantaged". Even by that definition, though, it's still no more accurate to call females minorities than males, considering that there are many areas where males are discriminated against and disadvantaged

Yes, its quite hard to define a group as competent, powerful, and independent but also universally victimized in nearly every metric imaginable (~~even if~~ especially when the facts do not support that) and oppressed.

Being female is a disability. They are simultaneously mentally, physically, and emotionally handicapped when compared to males, on average. This is objective fact.

So if you believe in hiring quotas and affirmative action they fall under both the mentally and phsically handicapped bucket at same time.

It's not that women are treated like a minority, but that minorities are treated like women. It's a gynocentric society.

Both men and women were subjugated to the interests of the tribe/clan/society.

Women were then liberated by feminism from this in many respects, but they diagnosed the problem as women being subjugated by men, and the manner of their liberation often relied on retaining and strengthening mens subjugation to the interests of family, tribe, and society.

On top of that subjugation (note all the ways misandry forces men into that position), they also began the vilification and dehumanization of men.

Fundamentally it is reliant on a self-absorbed view of sexism, lack of empathy and lack of consideration for men and their position, or high levels of in-group bias and so on.

Historically women have been oppressed. In the past it is likely the divide between men and women was even higher because more men would die in war or from hard work. It doesn't require a statistical minority to be oppressed or discriminated against. Look at apartide South Africa.

Because they are under represented in most things like government and the like. It doesn't refer to their numbers in the population.
