Ah yes. The patriarchy. Where sexual selectivity results in most men being killed and only the fittest being allowed to have children with women of any quality.

This guy is really onto something. It’s like when humans killed off the less fit wolves to make dogs that better fit our needs. Clearly it’s the dogs that benefited from this arrangement, we feed our dogs, pick up after them, and let them lounge around all day.

Society has obviously always just been a dog-archy running the patriarchy. We need to fight to end the oppression of humans by pets and men. Like human males, dogs have greatly benefited from extreme selection and being killed off for having the wrong traits leading to increased genetic defects. The goal of any organism is to die childless so it can contribute to the oppressive regime of the remaining survivors.

I hope we soon get to cast off the shackles of this patriarchal oppression and get to witness a serious gynarchy where women are sent off to die in conflict and live a life of hard labor in support of society. Everyone knows that’s the true sign of a ruling class.

Women are the selectors of genetics- they probably repeatedly chose only super successful genetics, that is, once tribes developed, and there was stability

Isn't their premise simply that during the agricultural revolution tribal relationships became incredibly family-bonded and that inter-tribal conflict wiped out much of the male-lines while the female lines remained alive and preserved? and that This is why it appears as tho 1 male reproduced for every 17 females, simple genetic bottlenecking?

I would love to hear /u/TyphonBlue comment on this article or turn it into a Badger discussion. Off the cuff it strikes me as ideology driving science and not the other way around.

While undergrads everywhere can change the course of history (looking at you Sergey and Larry) and can bring novel ideas to the table this seems more a case of building a mathematical model to fit the presumptions and then crowing about a solution to an unsolved problem.
