Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

I am shocked. Women you say.. taking advantage of men's desire to garner free attention and validation. Say it ain't so.

So using social media for validation?

Shocking.

This is just part of how women work. Nothing new about this.

This is what a large percentage of flirting is.

Haven't you guys ever been flirting with a woman only to find her strangely reticent to move forward? I've had classmates, cashiers, bartenders, women on public buses initiate flirting with me, banter back and forth for a minute and a half, laughing and smiling, then when I say we should hang out I get a fake number like 20% of the time.

I remember once I was flirting with this girl in class almost every day for weeks. Initiated by her more often than not. I asked if she wanted to grab lunch one day and "I have a boyfriend." spilled out of her autonomically. When I responded, "So? It's just lunch." she turned and walked away like I'd told her she smelled bad.

In her own way you she showed you she's not the kind of person you would be interested in dating anyways.

Sounds like she just liked the attention/validation from you and once you tried to move it forward (at least in her mind) she wanted nothing more to do with you.

I hate to be right. I truely hate it...

PS: Thanks for sharing OP!

I am so glad I have no interest in using dating apps.

I read a couple of articles about Bumble and Tinder the other day. They sounded absolutely horrendous. I think if I were to use one, I'd start vomiting within 5 minutes.

"OMG! You look good at fucking!"

"Yeah, well, you look like you can fuck."

"Yeah! I know how to fuck!"

"OMG, that's clever! Wanna fuck?"

"I dunno, can you jump through all these hoops?"

"Hoops, huh? Well I-"

"EEEYEW! That's a deal-breaker! -BLOCK!- There are no good mehnz left!"

[–]Lethn 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only good thing about mainstream social media and dating apps is it has brought all of the horrible people you'd never want to date to begin with out in the open. I'm actually kind of grateful even though I'm sad at the same time because it shows that I'd just be wasting my time with the majority of them so I can look elsewhere.

Online dating is worthless for non-attractive men. And it's not easy being considered attractive by women and their ludicrous male beauty standards (while telling everyone that men are the shallow ones!)

[–]shit-zen-giggles 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The OKCupid study blew that claim into pieces...

Men rate women in a perfect normal distribution. Women rate men 80% unattractive and 20% attractive.

Samplesize in the millions didn't leave a doubt...

[–]Diesel-66 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But they still replied. It made no sense, women don't think men are attentive but they still want the attention

Or have fun with the liberal man-hating women by slapping them with their own logic. Some conversations can be fun :)

[–]fengpi 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're a phony. Such women have no logic to be slapped with.

Statistics is built on small sample sizes. The t-test doesn't even have a minimum sample size.

I admit that I’d rather see MRA focus more on actual issues facing men. These sorts of EVUL WOMYN are /braincel levels of pettiness.

[–]paper-street 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What does this have to do with mans rights?

[–]Hill-ry 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Others have pointed out issues with the methodology and claims in the headline so I won't bother with that except to say there are issues. However, it is obvious a number greater than zero women (I'm sure some men do too, but there isn't the same kind of culture around affirming men like the culture that exists for affirming women) do use dating sites mostly for a quick boost after being dumped by an ex, getting turned down, or just for no reason in particular.

The problem I have is that many will point to this and complain but some of the complainers continue to shower women with compliments and attention. I mean, I know this is changing somewhat because at least anecdotally I've noticed more heterosexual men are reticent to compliment or ask women out on dates and more women are starting to complain they aren't getting the level of attention they're used to from men. However, it seems there's still enough of it going on for women to feel entitled to a certain level of flirting from men for their own ego.

I think heterosexual men in general should make a conscious effort to stop complimenting, pursuing, propositioning, or giving any attention that could be construed as flirtatious to women. Sure, at first this will probably mean both men and women will be lonely for a bit but eventually women will stop having to be the lazy daters they are and actually pursue men. I mean we know there were other societies where this was the norm:

In many cultures, it was the woman who did the erotic bidding. And in some of those cases, the male’s consent wasn’t always so clear-cut. In northern Columbia, no matter how homely a girl may have been, she could still score the handsomest man in the village, because if she were able to literally knock him off his feet by tripping him during a ceremonial dance, he was duty-bound to have sex with her. The Lesu women of East Asia didn’t leave much room for misinterpretation, either. In those parts, a lady simply lifting up her skirt to advertise herself to a man of her choosing worked like a charm. Since she performed this brash genital display in public, a man’s refusing such a transparent offer was perceived as a slight against her.

...Apinaj women in Brazil reportedly bit off their male lovers’ eyebrows and spit them out during sex, while Trukese men in the Caroline Islands could expect their highly aroused wives to poke a finger sharply into their ears.

I think this would ultimately be better for both parties. Men no longer feel exasperated with rejection or being toyed along. Lazy dating women will have to get off their high horse and start pursuing men, giving men some much needed sense of being desirable.

with how the current dating trend seems to be, this is a step in the right direction.

Many women

Congratulations, you have a brain and have figured out that most articles like this are full of shit and are often propaganda designed to sway people one way rather than actually report any kind of real scientific analysis. Whenever journalists use the phrase "Most Americans believe", "Most British people believe" that's usually also a lazy cop out to try and use a phony or biased study or poll in order to sway public opinion into thinking that's how the majority of the country think.

Doesn't matter if it's something any of us agree with or not or whether or not it's in our favour, polls with a low sample of people should always be avoided as a source.
