Chivalry is dead and has to die for women to be equal to men. Chivalry came into existence when gender roles were hardline. It continued to exist until feminism destroyed it as an effect of creating serious equality.

Women are now working for equal wage, enrolling in higher education more than men, there are no segregated spaces (feminism is working to change that, however), women now have the benefit of the doubt (generally the final word at this point) in he-said-she-said cases like sexual misconduct and domestic violence, can enlist for frontline combat positions (still free from having to sign up for draft or be refused basic citizenship like men), it goes on. In the US, there is nothing a woman doesn't have that a man has except a feminist scrutinizing their existence.

We're not footing the bill at restaurants as a rule anymore. We're all adults, we should all behave like it.

The black chick on the right kept singing the same old tune.. "I am a mother of 2".. as soon as she said that it puts me off right away since I am a single father with my daughter more then 50% of the time.. Men can take care of kids just as well as you, a few extra chores a day and making sure your kids get what they need isn't worthy of a fucking medal, its a natural thing to do when you have children, male or female. I fucking hate supermoms who think they have it tough.

It's not even "chivalry", it's literally entitlement, narcissism and misandry. If you think your gender means you need to be treated like royalty, and his gender means he has to accept being treated like your servant, you have some issues. Women shouldn't be expecting guys to subjugate themselves like this anymore, and it is entirely wrong and sexist for them to have this type of expectation.

And, yeah, there have been countless guys out there who have been punished for being too nice. Either they were labelled as meek or they were labeled as sexist for thinking women were weak(even though they probably just did it because that's what men were told they were supposed to do or did it because they thought themselves as the lesser gender). Women should just accept equality and accept being treated as equals, both socially and romantically.

I somewhat disagree that the notion that a mutually supportive relationship between men and women has fallen out of favor with modern women. I think that's somewhat of a generalization. There are, indeed, some women and I would argue it's a sizable group of women who see men as nothing more than a means to an end. They have all these lofty, unrealistic expectations about who their man should be and what he should provide them. Those are women who will, at some point, learn the hard way that their expectations are flawed.

Most women, though, don't feel that way. That's just in my experience though. I've met some who really are self-centered in how they approach their relationships. I've met plenty more who are much more balanced in their approach. I think the kind of women who would see men and relationships in such a crude manner are a minority, but I am concerned that theirs is a view that's becoming more widespread.
