Men have almost nothing substantive to complain about, and to moan that we deserve praise just for not being sexist looks a bit rich.

I was sorta with him til he dropped this steaming turd.

This is the entire problem with feminism it's all "We care about men too" and then "men have nothing to complain about". If they actually cared about men then they'd have the decency to properly research men's issues, but they don't and that's why they can say the shit they do about men generally.

[–]GingerRazz 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what amazes me. Feminist doublethink asserts both that they are helping men's issues and that we have no issues. Those two views are mutually exclusive.

Also, I think anyone who can come across as not sexist to anyone deserves a Nobel prize. I don't think it's possible to be not sexist in the eyes of feminism without being sexist from the perspective of a non feminist. Feminist not sexist seems to demand sexism against men.

Yeah I was about to copy and paste that quote like you did. It's jaw dropping in the unawareness of men's issues and disadvantages.

he dropped this steaming turd.

Like the well behaved, castrated little lap dog that he is.

While the author panders a bit, in that he says equality is a long ways off, yet, and he puts words into many men's mouths by saying that we're on board with pay equity (I'm on board with pay equality at the same position, but pay equity is a whole other ball of wax), this piece was still in a major Canadian magazine.

[–]hackableyou 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I used to be on board for pay equality until I saw this:

https://youtu.be/hsIpQ7YguGE

Especially the point he makes at 3:40 about how equal pay laws reduce to zero, the cost imposed on people who discriminate for irrelevant reasons. RIP Milton Friedman.

I love listening to Milton. He puts these points together in an easily understandable and eloquent fashion. If you enjoy him, you'll also enjoy Thomas Sowell and Yaron Brooks, but offer the same points.

[–]hackableyou 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I will check them out. Thanks.

[–]theothermod 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He panders a lot - but the significant thing for me is that even some of the male feminists are starting to feel that the hate has gone too far.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, the comment he makes about men not having any real grounds to complain seemed a little idiotic to me, for example.

Maybe enough male feminists have been hoisted by their own petard that they are starting to realize that their ally status will never trump their sex, in the eyes of their so-called allies?

[–]andejoh 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"In 2018, men of all ages and all across the country, married or single, educated or not, are far more feminist than ever before. "

Maybe true, but they are actually more egalitarian, which isn't exactly being feminist since it supports equality for all and not just women.

[–]Lumberingfeather 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck feminism.

[–]thrway_1000 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Feminism is a hate movement, why would I want to join that?

It's interesting that the article starts with this...

Editor’s note: The opinions in this article are the author’s, as published by our content partner, and do not necessarily represent the views of MSN or Microsoft.

The article is very PC and male blaming, despite the title...

Across the English-speaking world women now outnumber men in higher education. Yesterday the chairman of a Toronto law firm told me about their affirmative action program: trying (and failing) to find more capable male articling students. In every field, at every level, women are making progress. The other side of this coin is that male influence, power and prestige are all in decline.

Objectively, this is good. Men continue to enjoy unearned advantages. Women are still paid less than men. The career impact of child rearing is also much harder for them. Our political and corporate leaders remain mostly male. True equality is still a long way off.

So apparently it's good that men are being hurt, for err, reasons, but I guess it's not near enough.

[–]Kanonizator 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Many/most men will always support anything women want them to because men are hardwired to make women happy. Yes, this is true even for the openly female supremacist, male-hating ideology that is feminism.

Also, any article supporting feminism is bound to be full of shit, why is anyone around here surprised this article is no exception?

Another fence sitter, trying to serve two masters, pleasing neither.

Immature people can only conceive of power as the power to manipulate through deception, flattery, coercion and intimidation. Women are immature people. Maybe they will grow up once they’ve gotten used to power, but they’ll do a lot of damage on the road to maturity.

If this author thinks it’s going to happen any other way, he’s got another thing coming.
