There was a user I ran across over on the santaslittlehelpers subreddit. Per his post, single father. No child support. Struggling and asking for toys for his 6 year old son for Christmas (That's the point of that sub if unfamiliar). My wife was totally on board when I said I wanted to send something. She grinned when I told her about it and asked "it's because he's a single dad isn't it?" And then suggested sending a second toy. (She is step mom and knows I have been in that fathers shoes before)

We are fortunate enough to be able to give and honestly I've never felt as good as I did about giving as I did giving directly to a single father just trying to give his child a happy Christmas.

I've gotten MAYBE $400 in the almost 12 years since my daughter was born. And we got it all in the first 5 years.

It's ridiculous the double standard regarding child support. When my daughter was first born the state tried to collect from me and they were taking almost $150 a week from my pay. I fought and got it all back but now the mother gets to just pay when she wants or if she wants to with practically no consequence.

mothers are not more important than fathers. fathers are objectively more important than mothers.

there is no such thing as racial privilege... it is "two married parents household" privilege. kids who have two parents who are committed to each other have drastically better outcomes than those who do not -- we're talking graduating high school, not getting arrested, graduating college, and then getting a job that pays over the national household average. it's not even fucking close.

gay couples (specifically men, not lesbian women) outperform hetero couples in child outcomes. then comes single fathers and lesbian couples after hetero couples. single mothers come in distant last, so far behind, that 70% of all crime is committed by children of single mothers. virtually all high school dropouts and juvenile arrests are the spawn of single mothers. single mothers are crime and poverty factories, while single fathers are not.
