The entertainment industry is probably one with the best gender ratio balance out there. Which kinda seems strange considering how sexist and creepy it is, and how wide spread favors for sex is there.

But maybe not so strange. One thing you can definitely say about the tech industry and the engineering/science fields in general is that favors for sex is very rare there, almost unheard of.
And a less than generous mind may suggest that this is the very reason you don't see so many women there: it's not easily possible to advance careers with the female power to climb hierarchies with sex there.

I mean I have seen it many times how confused and irritated many women get when they are confronted with a people and a situation where they can't use flirting and sex to get something. Like being shot in the knee, they are deeply hurt and crippled by it, like losing a limb.

To say that sexism against men doesn't matter because sexism against women also happens is derailing. It's not even true that women necessarily have it worse when it comes to sexual assault or sexual harassment or sexual objectification

Women do the same thing to men nearly just as often as the other way around (read: "Sexual offending by women is surprisingly common"). The different is that even when men do speak out about women sexually assaulting or harassing or objectifying them, they're shamed into silence by "women have it worse, stop complaining!" or also "what are you an overly-sensitive fag? Just.... Why? Is his career really riding on the whims of feminist ideology that much? Given the way he has backtracked on this issue so much it seems so. For future reference everybody, objectification, sexual harassment and assault are three entirely separate subjects and he was talking about objectification in that article, I remember reading through it.

It's stupid that his comments are being judged in the context of Harvey Weinstein. Harrington said months ago that he sometimes feels objectified when he's required to go shirtless for a role. That is a completely valid thing for him to feel. Now, people are saying, "A man taking his shirt off is nowhere near as bad as what women had to go through because of what Harvey Weinstein did!" and so he felt the need to apologize. And that's dumb. Just because someone else went through something worse doesn't mean what he expressed about his own experiences wasn't legitimate.

Thankfully, the comments are overwhelmingly against this apology. He may have been pressured into apologizing by some people (I suspect the Hollywood crowd), but the general population isn't buying it.

Since Weinstein was toppled, a new order has been set up in hollywood. I imagine all the men who made even the slightest infraction against the narrative will be professing how sorry they are and didnt mean it, or will just stop acting as work no longer seems to come their way.

The Weinstein incident was a demonstration of power of the new rulers of hollywood.
