It's very unfortunate--and ironic considering how often people complain about the issue of "women's reproductive rights"--that if a man doesn't want to be a father, he can still be forced to be financially responsible for 18 years if the mother chooses; and if he does want to be a father, he has to watch his child be killed if the mother chooses

People who say "her body; her choice" and "no uterus; no opinion" evidently don't understand how painful either of the previous two scenarios can be for a man to go through

They meant divorce. Get a divorce. She isn't the one for you. Marriage is a team game, when one disagrees with the other on a play there is a problem. This isn't whether salt goes in scrambled eggs. This is a life you both created.

Well I have to say, I think having a kid should be a team sport. If both parties aren't onboard there should be no kid. Obviously men don't have the right to abort (nor should we have the right to mandate a medical procedure for another person) so in its place we should have a legal equivalent to allow us to forfeit the rights and responsibilities of Parenthood.

But if your wife has no interest in your feelings the marriage is over.

I was in the exact same situation. i posted it here before. My wife and I were separating when we found out that she was pregnant. We already had two kids and she wanted an abortion. I didn't have the heart to do it. I looked at my first 2 kids and I felt that an abortion in this situation was wrong. I love my kids. I would do anything for them. I begged her to carry the baby to full term and I would raise it on my own. Eventually she agreed. That baby is now a 5 year old little girl. Her mom doesn't have much to do with any of our kids. She sees them once a year. i have all 3. Life had been very hard since she left. In my own opinion once you have kids and see them and love them how can you kill them? Before my little girl was born I knew I would love and protect her with my life. I took a lot of criticism on reddit for "pressuring' my wife not to get an abortion as it was 'her' body. But what about my daughter? What about her life? I couldnt let it end without at least giving her a chance? Why didn't my unborn daughter have any rights? I thank my exwife for carrying her to full term. And even tho my ex doesnt see her I know that she doesn't regret carrying her to term. In her own way she loves her too. Fight to keep the baby! If she doesn't want the baby then you should take it. But to kill it because she doesn't want it is wrong. If there is someone to love it then she should keep it. I dont have the heart to kill a child born or unborn. If she carries it to term she will NEVER regret it. If she kills it she will be filled with regret. PM me if you like. I was there.

I'm imagining it's more common that middle-aged fathers are done with kids and mom still gets to "accidentally" fob another one off on him. There was actually a HuffPo article a long time ago that was a new 5th-kid mom getting all misty-eyed that she'd "overcome" her husband's strong objections to more children and now he loved the new baby so everything was wonderful. Forced parenthood, what's good for gander is for the goose to decide.

To me, this particular case is not a clear-cut instance of "her rights, his wrongs". Any sound LTR with kids and mortgages and blah... and then an unexpected pregnancy needs a lot of thought and negotiation and compromise. It's quite right that OP expresses his wants openly, and it's quite right his partner wants a bit of space to consider. In the end, it is her decision and IMO rightly so, especially given prior complications (IVF in the first instance) and her age: pregnancy is a big risk for any woman in those sorts of circumstances.

But I do sympathise with him in that he wants the child. He's fortunate in that they already have two healthy children: many blokes (more than we'll ever know) who wanted (and want and will want) children will never have that heartfelt wish granted them, and I know how sharply that stings. Therapy doesn't get close.

Cheers mate... I have a story..

Proud single dad of two here... here's how I did it:

I had a relationship with her that we both were into, funny, happy, kinky, supportive,

everything a modern American relationship is about: She fucks me, I pay for her. FYI, I was 32

she was 28.

So I knock her up. Shes already got two kids from other dudes but I don't care, I want my kid.

Thankfully she didn't work and was completely dependent on me so I didn't allow her to see any

doctors without me being there. She had no license and no money for a bus, and no time anyways

because she had her two young kids and the house to care for. I always made sure I was with her

at the hospital to check on the baby. No opportunity to abort. Since I carried the insurance I

called the shots. My incubator my rights.

Same story with child #2.

So, two kids born really easy. Note: she didn't want them, said she had enough already. However,

I didn't care at all about her opinion/feelings/needs/whatever,... I wanted my kids.

Once I had her give birth twice, I kicked her and her kids out of my house under the guise that

I was moving. I told her I was finished and didn't need her anymore. I was done.

She had an episode and started to go nonlinear. She contacted child services who advised her to

seek a shelter and file for child support. Since I had a normal life (full-time job, house, car,

no criminal record) and she had no job, no house, and was a crack-whore and regular whore.. I

fought child services and despite their lopsided BS I won. My ex didn't even show up at the

custody hearings. Child services tried to get my kids taken from m e but that couldn't find

anything to stake a claim against. I'm clean. Meanwhile, my depositions to CS of her nd her

failure to send the kids to school, plus crack, plus dealers at the house, plus guns, plus

$40000 suddenly, plus ads of her being a whore got her other kids placed with their dads.

So, now I raise two kids myself, with no bitch to argue/dissent with, and all her other kids are

safely placed with their dads. It's like sweet payback for women that try to exploit you for CS.

Every now and then I get a text asking to chat with a kid. I ignore it. she keeps changing

numbers. The kids know shes a slut. Their mom is a whore, but, and here's the kicker, if she

wasn't a standard whore, i would've gone thru the same BS as you. Find a slut, birth the kid,

then use her shitty decisions against her to keep the kid yourself.

I've had my kids 8 years now, they were 6 months and two years when I kept them.

tldr: use a slut to make a good quality kid and be able to keep it for yourself!
