This is the type of person that should be executed. Sorry but no, you cannot ruin the lives of 23k people and get to live anymore. Sorry but you just don't.

I think the real crime here is all those god damn explanation points in their emails back and forth.

While it is usually futile to ascribe logical rationale to a woman’s actions, one can make a few observations.

Here's a local source, without the sexist garbage that makes our movement look sexist by association.

Thank you. RoK is so far up its own ideological ass that I trust it about as much as Jezebel and Polygon.

She served 3 years. A man would surely have got far more. The assumption is that men are responsible and women have no agency. Which brings into question the idea of giving the latter responsible jobs in the first place. Life without parole would have been appropriate, considering the damage she caused.

This case, also brings into question the whole US justice system. The tax office can efficiently collate data to show where fraud is likely. The criminal justice system really ought to be able to do the same thing when thousands of men plead innocent and are found guilty on lab results they must have challenged. Computer checking should have revealed that the lab itself was producing unexpectedly high positive results. It would seem to be likely that the police would have noticed the high level of positive results from this particular source and would have been sending any samples they particularly wanted convictions on there.

Normal practice in the mining industry is that labs are tested by customers by being given standards, samples whose makeup is very accurately known by the customer. The same sample will sometimes be sent back with a different name to verify that results are consistent over time and many other checks are normal. That these standards are applied in mining, but not criminal cases, is a major flaw in the justice system.

Her husband warned prosecutors that Annie was a chronic liar and not to believe anything she said.

He should have warned defendants.

A man would be facing life probably -and should. That its "white collar" doesn't change it.

[–]MisterDamage 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

In point of fact, many of her victims are still in jail after she's served her time and been paroled...

[–]mikesteane 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Imagine if she gets murdered. Police are going to have a list of 23, 000 suspects to start with.

[–]a-man-from-earth 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Except all those still in jail...

[–]MisterDamage 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :) I guess I'm just a bad person :(

Dookhan, who was responsible for testing drugs in about 40,000 cases at the former Hinton laboratory in Jamaica Plain from 2003 to 2012, admitted to more than two dozen charges of tampering with evidence and fabricating results. She served three years in prison, for perjury and evidence-tampering, before she was released on parole last year.

I bet that's not even a tenth of a percent the amount of time she's caused people. I bet she's caused plenty of people more time than that individually.

how the fuck is she on parole? prosecutor privilege+female privilege. People get more for fucking weed.

[–]MisterDamage 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"...while many of her victims still sit in prison, waiting to be released, Annie has already served her time and been released on parole."

This part stopped me dead in my tracks.

[–]This_is_my_phone_tho 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also, do we know if she specifically targeted men?

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lets just call her Count Dookhan from now on.

Interesting story. Very poorly written article.

While it is usually futile to ascribe logical rationale to a woman’s actions, one can make a few observations.

This is unnecessarily patronizing and sexist. In all honesty, this is no better than feminist nonsense.

Sonja worked at a different crime lab from Annie, showing the problem is systematic.

Yes. This has happened more than once in the last decade therefore it is a systematic problem. What on earth are these people thinking when they write sentences like this? Take your rhetoric and ram that shit back up your ass where I assume you pulled it from.

Ironically, journalists misrepresenting the truth is a more common problem. I'd call that systematic.

nothing special here

just another corrupt police official faking evidence for prosecutors, i have seen it my entire career

you only care because she is a women and a minority so it fits your conspiracy

tell me when you all start marching for the dead men in blm, male cops are killing men every day for no crime except being black and alive- where are those articles? why dont you guys care about that?

i know why- becuase mra is about white men and not black men- if it was about all men you would be marching and be running a sticky every time a black man was killed by a cop, but you dont, its all about women and rape acusations instead of the free and constant hunting of black men

black lives dont matter here

all that matters here is easy access to pussy

[–]mikesteane 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Would you perhaps like to tell us what you have seen? Have you reported it? If not, you should probably be asking questions of yourself rather than of us. Why are we not marching? Well why are you not acting on the information you claim to have?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well since I worked in defense typically I reported everything I discovered in my work to the DA, judges and review committees of the relevant crime

But if you want a specific example- a cop I defended raped his son and daughter repeatedly after he killed his wife and claimed it was a suicide, I and everyone knew it was a murder since there was no way she could have gotten the gun out of the retention holder.

Didint matter since it never went to trial, I got his girlfriends statement about him confessing to raping his children excluded. He was a popular officer so it was an easy job, no one wanted to look into it.

His son killed him self like 2 years later and the daughter ran away, never found.

He remarried to a lady with kids, started raping them too, she called the cops on him after catching him in the act(this was told to me by his lawyer at the time over drinks) again he was not charged

Yeah cops are crooks and liars and rapists and murders, another time I was on a committe to review the execution murders of a black family, cop broke in killed the whole family and robed the house, they had drugs- I was hired as a lawyer through the pba, I recommend we move it to hire level investigation- commissioner said no evidence, yeah he killed all those people

[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I can't believe there really is a lawyer whose grasp of written English is as poor as yours is.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am really drunk

[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Does your religion permit that?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
