Why do such strong and empowered women keep demanding that;

  1. They should not be held legally liable for their own violence
  2. That any man using self-defence to such violence should be viewed as the Primary Aggressor and not The Primary Victim of Her Primary Aggression?
  3. When did Berkely Law become such a Shit Hole that Law Students can't grasp The Law?
  4. When did women over the age of 18 become "Girls" at Berkely?
  5. When did the Berkely Feminoughts stop demanding that Langauge Counts and just go straight for Drama?

If this is equality, I don't want it.

Like I've said again and again: If we did somehow magically give women equality... honest, real, unflinching equality... They would beg to have traditional roles back. And they'd get it.

I think you're wrong.

[–]bakedpotato486 16 points17 points18 points 9 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

You make an agonizingly convincing argument as it is, but I think some clarification is in order for those who don't understand it as deeply as you do.

[+]Tedesche -11 points-10 points-9 points 9 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

And I think people who can't see the blatant sexism in making such a generalized statement about women are hopeless, and not worth debating with.

[–]fac1 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I think you missed his point.

[+]Tedesche -9 points-8 points-7 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I don't think so, but if you feel differently, feel free to enlighten me.

[–]fac1 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Sure. His point was that women have a lot of societal advantages that many take for granted (especially feminists), and that if there were to be actual equality / identicality between how the sexes are treated, that would require taking away those advantages, which they would be very unhappy about (such as the advantage of not being allowed to be punched).

[–]Tedesche 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Yup, got all that. He's still dead wrong if he thinks all women, or even just most women would shirk all the responsibilities that come with equality (which, I agree, they presently aren't burdened with) in favor of going back to the kitchen. If he'd phrase that same point differently, I might not have objected, but he decided to make a sexist statement out of it, hence my disagreement. People can downvote that objection all they want, I stand by it.

[–]fac1 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I think that if given the choice between either A.) being open to punches from people many times stronger than them, or B.) living as people have lived for the entirety of human existence except for the past ~70 years after technology / birth control changed what was possible, I think most ladies would chose option A.

Not that that should have to be a choice, but if it were, there's a clear winner. Contrary to what feminists have told you, there were lots of happy women in the old world. Just ask your grandmother / great aunt / whatever very old ladies you know.

[–]Tedesche 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Dude, check my comment history if you think I'm some feminist shill. I know it wasn't as bad as some feminists have painted it. I still think most women want total equality, even if most of them don't yet fully appreciate what that would mean. I think, once they did realize, they'd suck it up, accept the responsibility, and deal with it. Far better than going back into the kitchen. This isn't just about punches to the face.

[–]Demonspawn 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately for you, tabula rasa is bunk.

[–]Tedesche -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

That has nothing to do with it.

[–]Demonspawn 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Has everything to do with it.

If tabula rasa is bunk, that means men and women have inherit qualities (in general). I can discuss those qualities. And if you look at the voting records for the last 100+ years, an inherent quality of women is they want to be provided for rather than do the providing.

[–]Tedesche -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Still has nothing to do with it. Tabula rasa is not required for men and women to be treated equally.

[–]Demonspawn 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Tabula rasa is not required for men and women to be treated equally.

Actually, it's the fundamental requirement.

They have to be interchangeable (tabula rasa has to exist) for them to be treated equally. Otherwise, you're living in make believe land where you can turn lead into gold and are insisting they have the same market value.

Anyone who isn't an idiot can see that treating unequal things equally creates a system headed to failure. Are you an idiot, or do you just play one on reddit?

[–]Tedesche -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, you're definitely too stupid for me to waste my time on. Fuck off.

Im just waiting for the day when not punching a woman is seen as a sign of misogyny, and therefore you can be arrested for crimes against women for lack of physical retaliation.

[–]fengpi 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just you wait. In a world where not wanting to be alone with a woman is raep kulchir, anything is possible.

I hope he got a rabies shot.

[–]mwobuddy 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

rabies only occurs in warmblooded animals.

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Its like women who rape children. Suddenly its not reported as pedophilia because they were 'in a relationship'.

Women suddenly are no longer women when facing retaliation, they are reported as 'girls'.

Heck its not even reported as 'retaliation' or 'being involved in a fight'. Its always 'the victim of a cruel attack...'

[–]bakedpotato486 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

These reporters are giving them exactly what they want; the innocence of a child or the responsibility of an adult whenever it suits them.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't like how reporters are so biased and gynocentric.
