So you think what determines rape is not the act but the legal status? So if they repealed laws on rape which include forcibly entering an unconscious woman, that would no longer be rape in your eyes?

You're using that logic with age of consent laws.

its rape when an a person has sex with someone under the age of consent.

its not rape when someone has sex with someone at or over the age of consent.

therefore it is rape in california to have sex with a 17 year old, but not to have sex with a 17 year old in new york.

because rape is defined by the law.

therefore it is rape to force someone into sex when they're a random drunk woman you've found, but if they repealed rape laws tomorrow, it would no longer be rape because it wouldn't be illegal, even though you're forcing her into sex against her will.

nah. Most of the people in this sub are like mirror-sjws. They'll call it rape because they believe that rape suddenly happens when the age of consent boundary is crossed, even though different states put that limit at different ages.

See, I can't think of a single version of real, true rape which has different limitations. Like, forcibly inserting your penis into someone isn't rape in california but perfectly fine in new york. its rape no matter where you go. OTOH, having sex with a WILLING PARTICIPANT 17 year old is against the law in california but not in new york. Interesting right? That new york allows rape of 17 year olds by adults?

Oh wait, maybe its because its not actually rape.

Calling this rape is a slap in the face to true victims of rape, people who've been physically and psychologically traumatized by forced sex. I have the data to back me on this, that willing sexual relationships between someone in teens and someone 20+ produces a lot less negative mental results than actual rapes. In some cases even positive, as Judith Levine and Allie Kilpatrick, both women, can attest.

Now lets see those negative votes fly due to the mirror-SJWs in here who can't handle truth or facts.

its SJWs that have been promoting that this is rape since the 70's, and now we see these people in here knee-jerking calling her a rapist or sexual predator for two people who are sexually attracted to each other and not that far off in age group having the sex they desire.

If she's a rapist because she's having sex with someone underage, what does that make one underage person having sex with another underage person? Does a magical "consent" switch flip on in their brain if their partner is closer in age? that seems to be the implication by mirror-SJWs and SJWs alike; that somehow, two people underage can meaningfully consent to each other even though the law says they can't consent.

Throw on R&J laws which say they actually can consent, and you've already opened holes in the logic that they can't consent.

Let's say you're right that it is rape. It is the same as being forced into sex on threat of death or beaten into sex or drugged and had sex with while unconscious. Does that sound exactly the same here?

Do you believe rape is purely a legal definition or an action? If rape laws were completely abolished tomorrow, would a person dragging your wife or daughter off against her will and forcing her to have sex still be rape to you? Would you declare that she hadn't been raped because the act was legal?

Suppose you say that yes, it is still rape even if it were legal. Its an act of violation and whether there's a law or not, it is rape. That means that whether it is legal or not, sex with a 16 year old constitutes rape in your book, if you believe it is rape when it is illegal. Because surely you want to maintain logical consistency.

If you believe that even without laws, rape is an action that violates another person, then even without the age of consent being 18 everywhere, someone 16 or 17 where it is legal to have sex with them is being raped, because rape isn't just a legal definition but an act.

So why aren't you doing more to raise the age of consent in your own country or worldwide to strictly 18 to prevent all these legal rapes from going on?

Or will you admit that this actually isn't rape?

Far more intelligent people than you have already had this argument. The extremities of the argument serve to flesh out the stage and are less important than any sensible moderate stance of stating that this is not pedophilia, nor is it rape, for a 17 year old and a 24 year old to fuck.

If its rape, why did you have to preface it with the word statutory?

Are you saying that a 17 year old who has willing sex with a 40 year old is a victim of rape in california and not a victim of rape in new york simply because the law says so? I have a feeling you'd still call someone who is forcibly pulled into an alley and threatened with a knife for sex rape, even if all laws of rape were to be repealed tomorrow.

Rape is rape. Age of consent violation is not rape. Otherwise you'd be having to admit to letting multiple states allow people to be raping 16 year olds legally because the age of consent is that low in some of them, while you do nothing to demand it be raised by federal law because you think its rape.

If it was rape, it would be tried under the rape laws which have existed since 1200. Since new laws had to be created, it is not rape. If you believe it is rape, then force other states to raise their age of consent.

I called it rape because thats what it is. If you don't like that, abolish age of consent laws. Because clearly they upset you. If you want to have sex with kids, thats your deal.

I already delineated why its not rape. If you are refusing to understand the argument then you really should shut up. Even the LAW disagrees with you that it is rape, since they don't put you in prison for 20 years for it like with, you know, actual rape.

Do you think a 16 year old is a victim of rape in new york but a free and willing sex participant in nevada to someone aged 40? If you're hinging your definition on the age of consent, not only are you wrong because it isn't rape, since its a 4 year sentence compared to ACTUAL RAPE which is 20 years (funny, you'd think rape would carry the same sentence regardless, eh? If it was truly rape, eh? eh?), then you would probably say that if all rape laws were repealed tomorrow, no one could rape your family by force or death threat because it ceases to be rape since its not on law books.
