You never had a right to speech on someone else's privately-owned platform (Facebook) any more than you have a right to go into a movie theater and start loudly lecturing about solid-state matter or dacryphilia.

MRAs should have a presence on popular/mainstream platforms, but they should always have a fall-back that is owned and controlled by MRAs.

Free speech only applies to the government. If you don't like these sites limiting what you can say on them, use a different site or start one yourself.

Free speech is an Enlightenment era concept that exists apart from any government.

The First Amendment (of the US) recognizes that natural right of man to not have his speech censored, diminished, or threatened by the government.

This needs to be said because any time someone points to the Enlightenment value of free speech being diminished in civil society, some dude comes along and says there's no such thing, because blah, blah, blah government.

Moving on, I think a firestorm via Breitbart like what happened with the Meninist page could shame them into bringing AVFM's Facebook back. But its contents and discussions should really live on independent servers in several different jurisdictions. And such groups should move to proprietary email lists or RSS feeds as the primary method to communicate with members.

I won't get into the 'free speech' argument wrt platforms like Faceboo! and the like (there are several other commenters here much better qualified than I am). I should, however, point out that - even this internetty age - there are plenty of other means of getting your message out there - radio, TV, print media, soapboxes in public parks, demonstrations and so on.

All I'm saying is: the internet isn't the be-all and end-all of anything.

The debate here of the legality of suppression, and the feasibility of technical solution, is one which has plagued MR for decades; I remember the days when fathers' rights groups had to fight for equal access to public spaces granted easily to feminist groups.

We should not miss the forest for the trees. Western society simply does not want men to be equal. We must find ways to change that. And changing that depends on exposure. Limiting that exposure is the reason society limits the expression of MR in the major media, in political fora, at unis, and on social media such as FB.

So, those limits on exposure, while changing in nature over decades, remain a principal obstacle to the advancement of MR.

They don't have to allow anyone to have a voice if they don't want to.

It is Completley acceptable for a private business like Facebook or Reddit to censor what gets posted to their site. Just like a TV station or newspaper

If I don't agree with your message you have no right to use my broadcasting property to do so.
