Throwaway. Found this subreddit randomly and I'm happy I did. As a 21 year old woman living in a blue state while attending a very liberal university, I see a lot of this blatant sexism and so called "equality" from feminists. I see it in person, at school, on my Facebook newsfeed, and more.

What sparked me to make this post is a situation that happened the other day. An extremely sexist video came up on my facebook feed. Normally, I would ignore it, but this time I was inclined to comment. The context of the video was basically women on public transportation beating the shit out of men that allegedly sexually assaulted them/catcalled them/etc. It was pretty brutal. At the end of the video, a quote that stated "we need to work together to make sure women always feel safe. This is EVERYONES problem". Or something like that. It made no mention of males being sexually harassed, WHICH DOES HAPPEN, and really had the "all men are pigs" vibe.

Let me first state I in no way think sexual assault is ok. It's a terrible thing. However, after seeing the obvious sexism in the video, I made this comment.

While I did have people who agreed with me, I had many people attacking me. Calling me a moron, saying "this is a WOMANS video!!!! Go make one about men if you want!!!" (oh i'm sorry I thought feminism was about equality).

I even had someone tell me I "was only saying what I was saying to attract attention from men" LOLLLLLLL. I'm a fucking adult. I can think for myself. To assume otherwise is laughable. My boyfriend happens to agree with me on my stance, however, I've met many men that don't..

More sexism poured in by saying "woman's safety is more important than the feelings of precious man babies". wut. I never said a woman shouldn't feel safe. All I was saying was if the roles were reversed, feminists would go crazy. Because apparently male sexual harassment doesn't happen, and the precious woman babies can't take a hit. See, I can use those terms too. Needless to say, the feminists didn't like it too much ;)

What also bothered me is one woman that said "this isn't a male problem. Not many men are sexually assaulted. But EVERY WOMAN has a story". Uhm, speak for yourself, but I've never been sexually assaulted/groped/ect/. Yeah I've been catcalled and yeah it's immature, but I roll my eyes (sometimes give the finger) and move on with my day. Like it really isn't a big deal........

Sorry for the rant of this post. I'm just soooo beyond sick of this shit, and I face it a lot. I get a lot of dirty looks and condesending questions for doing nice things for my boyfriend too, such as cooking for him and cleaning up after us. Nevermind the fact that he just had a huge fucking surgery so I'm just trying to help him out. Even when he's in good health and I do these things, what's the problem? He does a lot for me, he's honestly incredible to me. I get enjoyment out of treating him nice in return and doing things I know he appreciates.

Anyway, if you made it this far, congrats haha, it was a long post!! Thanks for reading :)
