Well the obvious answer would be a pre-nup, but they're entirely dependant on the Judge and Jurisdiction.

The only "safe" way to get married is to move somewhere where the divorce laws are more equitable. I'm unaware of such a place, so i'm personally not getting married.

Kids are much more difficult.

Avoid Community property states
Prenuptuals are hit and miss. unless your prenup allots atleast 30% of your wealth to the spouse, chances are the judge is going to throw it out and take 50% of it.
Dont marry someone for the sake of marrige. marry when you cant stand to be without that person.

Unfortunately there is very little a man can do to protect himself from a one sided divorce. Until lifelong alimony and paternity fraud are abolished, shared parenting laws are passed, the corrupt family law system is reformed and VAWA becomes gender neutral and predominant aggressor and mandatory prosecution are taken out of the statutes than men really have no business getting married.

There are very few benefits that one could argue for by getting married and nothing but terrible risks.

Just don't do it.

Marriage is a religious institution that's been half-assed into a legal one.

Don't get married. Instead, sign a contract delineating exactly what everyone is getting. Have it expire periodically and be renewable, and amendable. Then have a big, fancy princess wedding. But don't get married.

There's no clean method.

If you've got the cash, pull a Cristiano Ronaldo and pay someone to have your kids as a surrogate, so that you're the sole legal guardian. Then make sure the women you date are 100% OK with maintaining a separate domicile for the duration of your relationship and with not parenting your children.

It's not ideal, of course, and difficult and expensive to do, but there's really not much you can do when prenups are so sketchy.

That has real potential - have a celebration but not get legally married and a divorce wouldn't even be possible.

In some places courts might say this is close enough to legal marriage to make some award, but the risks are a lot less.
